Green River Golf Club
About
The beauty of the Santa Ana Canyons surrounds Green River Golf Club in Corona. The club originally had two 18-hole courses but they have been combined to form one massive, sprawling golf course. Although it is surrounded by hills and valleys, the course itself is mostly flat, making it a good round for high handicappers. The fairways are wide and forgiving, making it even more player friendly for beginners. There are still many challenges in store on this golf course though, including a number of river and creek crossings and strategically placed bunkers. The Santa Ana winds that sweep across the course can often make reaching the greens in regulation quite tough and the abundant trees, while providing a scenic and secluded atmosphere, also add to Green River Golf Club's difficulty.

Nice layout
Course design is great....a bit windy but adds to the difficulty...greens were in good shape but fringe was not great. Sort of a crab grass with a distinct line cut between the green and fringe. Not a fan. Overall good course. Would definitely play again.
Marshals needed
Nice changes were made to the course. The only problem I have is the pace of play. I attempt to play early with my son. We play fast. The course set up well for that unless people that don't have a care in the world or don't understand golfing etiquette (most likely) get caught. There was a foursome that held up six groups while they plodded along at a snails pace without a care in the world. During the entire round no marshal was seen. A gentle nudge would have been appreciated
Slow Play
Did not play. It was so crowded, they didn't have enough golf carts and they were behind schedule. They were so happy that we decided to take a refund and leave.
Decent place, decent course conditions
Overall decent for a Saturday round. We finished in just over 4 hours and tee'd off at 8:30am on a Saturday. Greens are nice and roll true. Fairways are decent. Rough gets a little patchy in some places, other spots there is no rough. Lots of trees - gotta hit it straight. Fair course, good value. We will be back.
3rd time at Green River Course
The course has an amazing practice facility from putting, chipping, to working your short 100 yards in game. Greens are perfect and fairways are especially green durning the drought and hot season. Great course and great people.
Bang for the buck
Fairly nice conditions around the course, moderate difficult setup, good price for weekend play.
Trees Galore!
If you have a hard time keeping it straight, your gonna have a bad time. Almost every fairway is tree lined. In the summer/spring it isn't so bad finding your ball in the woods. But when the leaves fall in Autumn, look out! Played in the afternoon and the winds started going pretty good at the turn. All in all, a fun course if you hit straight and get a good deal. Under $30 is when its worth it.
Noise,noise,and 12 TRAINS
Freeway noise, lots of other noise, 12 TRAINS run right thru the course, right by greens and tee boxes. Horrible, horrible. Layout bad. Two different courses made into one. Course itself is ok and some fair prices. Carts good. Clubhouse good. Greens are ok and course is fairly green. Can be really slow. Winds can make it very hard. Overall it can be ok. But think wisely before u book it. Lots of trains and noise and slow play and golf balls Beijing hit near u.
Cold and windy in SO. CA
The course was in good condition but it was windy and cold . The pace was ok 4hr-15min the people behind us kept hitting into us trying to speed us up but there was nowhere to go because the of the group in front of us. But all in all a good time.
Course was in good shape
We skipped a hole to pass up a slow five some group. After that it was a very quick round , finished 17 holes in 3 hours and 20 minutes.
pretty quick round
course was in good shape and the greens were true and managable
Good Course, Questionable staff
The course was in very good condition, the fairways and greens were better than expected for the drought. Our tee time was pushed back almost 30 minutes and the girl in the pro shop was not very smart/friendly/reassuring/welcoming/fast. The food after the 14th was pretty good. Little snacker after 13 is lame and small.
Nice facilities and interesting course
I like the first 12 holes the best which is part of the old River course.
course mantnance
This courese is too noisey from the train road and 91 free way.
Good day for golf
The course was fun to play. The elevations at this course are a fun challenge. They where punching the greens so had to play the front 9 twice.
More TLC
Course was in relatively good shape. Fairways could use to be overseeded. (Lots of clumpy areas in fairways) Greens had a few bad spots. All in all not bad for $18 on a weekday.
Doing everything to improve this course
As a foursome, we have been playing at Green River for a year now. Course management is doing everything to improve the course on a constant basis. Job well done!
Due to the location of the hill at the clubhouse, even on a windy day, of course, less than 15 miles per hour, you could still play. The way trees are, you get quite a relief from wind at this course.
Greens are well maintained, most of the broken cart paths are redone, including a brand-new path with protective fence when you return to clubhouse from 18th hole.
Course is well priced. Hope, they don't increase the price anytime soon. Until the guys are slow ahead, which on any course would be a problem, most of the time, you could finish the 18 holes in 4 hours.
Afternoon, you get to wait for the cart often, as their charging takes longer. Hope management finds a solution for this recurring problem.
Playing on SuperBall day
It was the 2nd time to play. I could not finish last time due to dawn last time. But I could enjoy this time on SuperBall day, I was not crowded. Couse was much maintained.
Fun Course
Fun course for a good price. Can get crowded for that reason. I can actually get a couple pars here. Not too many bunkers. Nice wide fairways. And we saw a coyote enjoying the day!
