Green River Golf Club
About
The beauty of the Santa Ana Canyons surrounds Green River Golf Club in Corona. The club originally had two 18-hole courses but they have been combined to form one massive, sprawling golf course. Although it is surrounded by hills and valleys, the course itself is mostly flat, making it a good round for high handicappers. The fairways are wide and forgiving, making it even more player friendly for beginners. There are still many challenges in store on this golf course though, including a number of river and creek crossings and strategically placed bunkers. The Santa Ana winds that sweep across the course can often make reaching the greens in regulation quite tough and the abundant trees, while providing a scenic and secluded atmosphere, also add to Green River Golf Club's difficulty.

windy and bumpy greens
this was probably one of the fastest rounds I've ever played! 3 hours for a twosome. there was NOBODY ahead of us the whole round! loved that aspect!
This course is surrounded by mountains and it gets windy. careful. play the wind to your advantage. the blue tees are long! a decent drive still leaves you with a 150+ yard approach shot which makes hitting the green difficult. avoid the trees.
and pat down your line on the greens. these greens are BUMPY!! it can help or break your game.
if you like horses, you'll see some with the mountain backdrop. beautiful!
Average golf course
Average golf course at best.
Paid 55 on weekends. Could get better deals in that area.
the course is terrible.
I reserved a tee time at 1:14pm. When we checked in at 12:45pm, we were told that our tee time was
delayed for half an hour due to a tournament.
Fairways are like goat pastures. Greens are ok. Too much construction around to enjoy the area. Won't go back.

Nice open course.
Great place to golf at a bargain price. Highly recommend .
Bang for your buck
Decent course, can't complain for $35! Only thing, aim for the fairways, there are so many leaves in the rough, you will have a hard time finding your ball!
Fun but Ruff course
Playable but needs attention fair course for the money
Course needs attention.
Tee box is good but green has a lot of sand. Fair way has too much mud.
green river saturday Dec 1 2012
Course was booked online and we were forced into paying for cart regardless of the fact that we wanted to walk and were willing to pay for walking rate. Pro shop personnel claimed they had "no choice" but to charge us that way since it was booked that way. Poor customer service as the staff was completely inflexible and basically charged us for cart rate regardless of whether we were going to use them. Pretty stupid...we used the cart since we paid for it anyway. There should be a walking option instead of only cart rate. Not very good customer relations when you go for revenue instead of a good golf experience.
Cow pasture
Course in very bad shape. Carts paths tore up. Doesn't look like any attention given to maintaining course.
Overall good value with Hot Deal at $19.00
The staff is great! Helpful, firendly and attentive. The course has some issues with areas needing attention, a couple of greens with issues, fairways are okay at best. Liked the layout, not as straighforward as the score card would suggest. You need to plan your shots. I would play this course again. Main issue was a pile driver punding, can be heard on about 7 or 8 holes. Traffic and train noise common.
This course has small greens & tree lined fairways
Tee'd off at 12:18 on twilight rate for $22, great deal. The fairways are a little thin but I didn't mind it. The rough is patchy but playable. The greens are small and were fast. Rolled true other that a few ball marks other people didn't fix which I did. But like I said for $22 I would play there again and recommend it to everybody. Need to drive the ball straight
Don't waste your time
First time back to Green River after they combined both courses. You still mostly play the Corona side, only like 4 or 5 holes are from the OC course. There is no turn on the course so if you want any food, you have to wait til hole 13 and then it's only a shack. There is no cart driving around with food or drinks either. Although signs are posted to not hold up the group behind you and that if you do the marshall will ask you to let them through, I waited on nearly every hole and never once saw the marshall say anything to the group ahead of us.
CRAB GRASS!
Basically, there isnt a single patch of decent grass on this course. The fairways are ok to hit from, but get off the fairway 6 inches or miss the green at all and good luck trying to get a clean stroke on your ball because the crab grass sticks together and there isn't a chance to get your club through it. You end up hacking at the ball and the ground. This course may be cheap, but it wasn't worth my time dealing with that grass and I'll never go back again.
Friendly staff and nice course.
I would recommend this course to anyone wanting a variety of holes. Plenty of everything (except water). Price is in line with other courses of this stature.
Average course for the price.
OK I'll play it once in a while It's fair for the cost
Good play, keep out of tree lines and let it roll.
Second time playing with new layout. Course is fine and rate was good with golf now.
Windy in the canyon
Nice course with good layout. Was a bright windy day when played and the wind does alter shots. Probably not entirely fair to rate this course the day we played as the greens had been plugged in the last several days so putting was a bit of a challenge. Overall condition of the course is good and it offers a nice challenge for the recreational golfer. I was not hitting the ball as well as I would have liked on this date, so hard to say how the course would play if I had been striking the ball better.
A great course for the money
Green River is the product of two courses, cut down to one. There are holes that are pretty standard and straight away to holes that are very difficult. A couple of par three's can be reached with one shot and some par fives that take every thing your have to get to the green. It's very scenic in some places with the wind as an added challenge on a few holes over the hill on the West side of the course. A great golfing experience for the money. Some fairways can be covered with leaves at certain times of the year. I return on a regular basis.
Good course
Green Rivers is a nice place to play, you don't have to have 5-6 hours to finish a round
