Chateau Elan Golf Club - Chateau Course

About
Although Chateau Elan Golf Club & Resort is just 40 minutes from Atlanta, the panoramic views of the north Georgia foothills make it feel much further from the city. The club boasts two public championship courses and a nine-hole course as well as The Legends, a private golf club. In addition to the golf, Chateau Elan is also home to a full production winery. The Chateau Course is one of the public championship golf courses. The layout wanders across 170 acres, winding around a lake and two creeks. Water, not surprisingly, comes into play on more than half of the holes but there are also 87 bunkers strategically placed throughout to watch out for. There is thick Bermuda rough bordering the contoured fairways too. It is more open than the slightly more challenging Woodlands Course, the other public championship golf course.

A Day at Château Golf Course: Stunning Greens and Unforgettable Scenery, Wishing for 18 More Holes
Just keeps getting better.
Chateau has always been a “if the price is right and we can get the preferred tee time” place. And now it’s slowly turning into a “MUST PLAY” on our rotation of local courses.
The last 4 times we have played (over the course of 4 months) I’ve seen this course grow with hospitality, course maintenance and value.
These brutal hot July days, having that 7:20 Tee Time is greatly appreciated. The staff (including the Marshalls) are kind and considerate.
Now if I can just get my game good enough to play the Woodlands 😝
Beautiful Course!
Great course layout and conditions. Very slow play and Marshall sat in his cart and didn’t say anything to the slow groups. Course was fun but not for a 6 hour round with cart girl only coming by once and turn bar closed on a Saturday.
Nice day
Chateau as usual was nice. Course was good pace of play excellent which a 7:30 tee time helped that and had a very nice lunch in grill. Little pricey($150 per) but nice things are.
Found a great deal
Typically Chateau runs $100 plus per round. Was able to book an early Sunday morning for $80.
Great day and the course was in perfect conditions. Shot my all time low score of 81.
If you can jump on this course for less than $100? Go for it
Not worth the money
The course was fine however the staff is rude especially the golf shop.
Premium prices short staffed no marshal to keep pace of play 2:50 minutes for nine holes, 90 degrees no beverage cart. Not worth the price for an avid golfer.
Wonderful!
My wife and I had a great round. An Excellent course, so were the staff and the amenities. We were lost in the back 9 and had to grab and ask a maintenance person to direct us to the next hole. Other than that, we certainly liked this course and added this course into our favorites.
Make sure you pack a snack
Make sure you pack a snack because food is not available until after hole 14. Bev cart showed up twice. Round lasted 4 hours 10mins with no waiting.
Awesome Course, Lack of Custom Service
Course was amazing. Well maintained, greens were in great condition.
It was 95 degrees and there 1 spot to fill water on the 7 or 7th hole. Cart girl only took cash, then the halfway house was closed up. No access to water nearly the entire round and bring cash.
Basic course nothing fancy
The chateau course seemed easier than the woodlands which I have played before. I would recommend it for beginners, but for advanced players would recommend woodlands. My perspective is that chateau was a bit overpriced and the quality was nothing exceptional. Still didn't feel like a waste of time but was expecting more after playing woodlands.
HOT
We had a 0740 tee time to beat the heat. Not only did we pay $87 for golf + small bucket of balls, but there was no jugs of water or beverage cart on the course! It was 83 with high humidity and no way to get water until you were on your way to 15th hole! Unacceptable! For that price for a round, there needs to be opportunities to get water! Course is WAY overpriced for what you get! I will not be back, nor will I recommend to friends!
Chateau side
Nice layout, great conditions but greens were quite slow. Probably had been punched a week or two prior so understandable. Pace of play was great. Staff was welcoming and helpful.
