About
Although Chateau Elan Golf Club & Resort is just 40 minutes from Atlanta, the panoramic views of the north Georgia foothills make it feel much further from the city. The club boasts two public championship courses and a nine-hole course as well as The Legends, a private golf club. In addition to the golf, Chateau Elan is also home to a full production winery. The Chateau Course is one of the public championship golf courses. The layout wanders across 170 acres, winding around a lake and two creeks. Water, not surprisingly, comes into play on more than half of the holes but there are also 87 bunkers strategically placed throughout to watch out for. There is thick Bermuda rough bordering the contoured fairways too. It is more open than the slightly more challenging Woodlands Course, the other public championship golf course.

Well done getting this course in excellent shape. Drivers out for everyone. The fairways are wide open.
Fun Day
Greens were good. Fairways were average for time of year. But, some cart pavement needs repair and lot of work needs to done on several 1st and 2nd level rough areas.

It’s a beautiful course. Greens were good! A must play outside of Atlanta !
Never Disappointed
This place keeps improving ,latest update was cleaning up along the fairways . Making better improvements for us golfers.
Course was muddy from previous two days of rain which is understandable, most courses in Georgia don’t drain easily. Pace of play was a massive reason for this poor review. Bunkers were not raked
Last minute t time
The course has not yet turned green, expected for Bermuda. Great layout, greens were in very good condition. Overall for this time of year, pleasantly surprised… Will definitely come back
Small but mighty
I played from the green tees and it felt short. I didn’t need driver a lot because of the short par 4s. That said, accuracy of the tee is rewarded but the fairways are pretty forgiving. You’ll just be hitting from an awkward lie but that’s Georgia golf.
The greens were impeccable. Not unrealistically fast but definitely moving. The best part was they were true. Every put was consistent. I’ll play it again just to putt on these greens.
The staff is what makes this place great! Very friendly, super helpful and kind.
Course is in great shape
I played here in the past and as always this course is in great shape the greens are immaculate and the staff was very friendly I love playing here when I get the chance and I'll suggest you play it too if you're a golfer who likes a challenge this course has a great layout.
Disappointed
I give the course decent stars only because of nostalgia for the course. For the money Chateau Elan Resort brings in, the course has got to be better. I used to play the Chateau Course a lot years ago and the price was fantastic; especially in the winter season. Although it’s winter time, there were some rough spots on the course. Fairways had some bare patches in spots, sand lacking in some bunkers, greens were a touch slow but in good shape. Overall, Chateau needs to bring the price down or make sure the course is in great shape year around. Pick one or the other. Not to mention their halfway house is NEVER open. Good layout and nice houses to look at though. Also, the range is awful right now too, have you hitting off bare spots.
