About
Although Chateau Elan Golf Club & Resort is just 40 minutes from Atlanta, the panoramic views of the north Georgia foothills make it feel much further from the city. The club boasts two public championship courses and a nine-hole course as well as The Legends, a private golf club. In addition to the golf, Chateau Elan is also home to a full production winery. The Chateau Course is one of the public championship golf courses. The layout wanders across 170 acres, winding around a lake and two creeks. Water, not surprisingly, comes into play on more than half of the holes but there are also 87 bunkers strategically placed throughout to watch out for. There is thick Bermuda rough bordering the contoured fairways too. It is more open than the slightly more challenging Woodlands Course, the other public championship golf course.

Worth the drive, to get a postcard picture play
This course is not easy, it challenged me so many ways. I play mid 80’s and the help of local players Perry and Kipp, I enjoyed myself so much. Went out as a single caught up and asked to join, they greeted me and shared tips for each hole that helped keep me out of trouble a few times. I found that the starters on many of the couses dont pair up singles, this is the only gripe I had. I actually took a few pics, the holes were so awesome looking, I did lose a few balls and with the help of a snowman, shot close to 90. Putting greens were in great shape, fairways manicured, the sand mix bottles were empty, I usually use alot of seasoning on my divots. Yeah, I told the cart super about it. Play this couse and you will be glad you did, I will be back. The clubhouse is being rebuilt due to a fire, but once on the course you forget it. Didnt drink or eat lunch, had to get the ladies off to shop.

Great day on this course
They had just finished the Women’s National Amateur qualifying last week. The course was in amazing shape. The staff went beyond to try and makeup for the construction of the pro shop and restaurant. Now to the course the greens ran fast and true loved it. Fairways were great and clean most lies were perfect

Excellent layout and fun tomolay
First time playing here and was pleasantly surprised. The layout is top notch and course in good shape. Would prefer a little faster putting surface but they were smooth and firm. Challenging from the back tees and you need all the shots here. The scenery was incredible and evaluation changes makes it top notch.

Better Option
The Chateau course at Chateau Elan is a great layout. A better option than the Woodlands course, for sure. We played 18 on a Saturday at 1:00 and were done by 4:15. The fairways, tees, and green complexes are in better shape and have a smoother roll than the Woodlands. Worth the extra money!!

First round in 10+ years
My wife and I played our first round in over 10 years today and had a great time at this course! It is impeccably maintained, challenging but not overly so, and the staff is about as friendly as you could ever want. With all the rain lately I was expecting a sloggy mess, but the course was virtually perfect! We opted to join the "Preferred Players Club" so we will be playing there quite often.

Always count on Chateau Elan
Played the Chateau course at Chateau Elan, and always enjoy playing it. Mainly because I of its wide fairways and the condition of the course. I gave the amenities a 3 star only because of the construction the pro shop and grill are under going. As far as the course itself, always enjoy playing there. From my understanding, construction should be complete around the first of August. Fairways are in great shape as are the greens, considering all of the rain we have had.

I had a great time playing the chateau course today! The course was in great condition! when I finished up it had started to rain when Jake assisted me with an umbrella and started to clean my clubs! When he was finished he handed me his card for when I come again! I’ll definently be returning in the near by future! Thanks chateau elan!

Great time!
This course was great! Got in before it started to what seemed like a storm! Thanks to the help of Jake , he came out with an umbrella and helped me with my clubs! He cleaned my clubs and gave me his card in case I came again! I will be back in the near time future! Great job Chateau Elan!

Sub par Marshall’s
Tee time was set for 708. Teed off at 730. Almost got hit in the head by group behind us 2 different times because of them being so freakin impatient. Marshall’s didn’t do anything about it. Course was great other than that.
