About
Although Chateau Elan Golf Club & Resort is just 40 minutes from Atlanta, the panoramic views of the north Georgia foothills make it feel much further from the city. The club boasts two public championship courses and a nine-hole course as well as The Legends, a private golf club. In addition to the golf, Chateau Elan is also home to a full production winery. The Chateau Course is one of the public championship golf courses. The layout wanders across 170 acres, winding around a lake and two creeks. Water, not surprisingly, comes into play on more than half of the holes but there are also 87 bunkers strategically placed throughout to watch out for. There is thick Bermuda rough bordering the contoured fairways too. It is more open than the slightly more challenging Woodlands Course, the other public championship golf course.

Recently Punched
Some of the fairways have been aerated recently, grass is still dormant, and surprisingly dry. Overall a nice course and enjoyed the day, just wish I would have known this ahead of time.

Hard fast greens

Unbearable slow pace
Tried to take my dad out for his birthday today for 18 at this place... took us 2.5 hours to get through 9 holes. No ranger anywhere to move people along and no answer from the clubhouse. We were waiting 15-20 min in between shots. Quit after 9...
Always enjoyable course!
We always like to play here! Today the course was unusually wet, especially in the middle fairway. We thought it would have dried out by our tee time, but not so much!

Good Stuff
everything was perfect with the course. Best I have seen it ever, they have remodeled the clubhouse and it is top notch. our cart did die and had to push last 3 holes but they had some tournament going on the Woodland course and probably had to use every cart they owed, Can't wait to go back...…..

Nice layout, over priced
Not near worth the price tag...staff was great and the layout was fun, but there are definitely nicer courses for cheaper. Greens were mine fields.

Great except
Course great conditions, staff perfect.
issue was someone teaching young child golf and driving around course and getting in front of me several times.

Enjoyable round
Finally a break in the summer heat. The course was in great condition, and the greens were smooth and fast. Had a great time. I would definitely recommend this course.

Worth the drive, to get a postcard picture play
This course is not easy, it challenged me so many ways. I play mid 80’s and the help of local players Perry and Kipp, I enjoyed myself so much. Went out as a single caught up and asked to join, they greeted me and shared tips for each hole that helped keep me out of trouble a few times. I found that the starters on many of the couses dont pair up singles, this is the only gripe I had. I actually took a few pics, the holes were so awesome looking, I did lose a few balls and with the help of a snowman, shot close to 90. Putting greens were in great shape, fairways manicured, the sand mix bottles were empty, I usually use alot of seasoning on my divots. Yeah, I told the cart super about it. Play this couse and you will be glad you did, I will be back. The clubhouse is being rebuilt due to a fire, but once on the course you forget it. Didnt drink or eat lunch, had to get the ladies off to shop.

Great day on this course
They had just finished the Women’s National Amateur qualifying last week. The course was in amazing shape. The staff went beyond to try and makeup for the construction of the pro shop and restaurant. Now to the course the greens ran fast and true loved it. Fairways were great and clean most lies were perfect

Excellent layout and fun tomolay
First time playing here and was pleasantly surprised. The layout is top notch and course in good shape. Would prefer a little faster putting surface but they were smooth and firm. Challenging from the back tees and you need all the shots here. The scenery was incredible and evaluation changes makes it top notch.
