Please trim the trees!!
As you play this course, you realize that the most difficult part of each hole (or nearly each hole) is that the fairway trees need trimming. This is NOT "sour grapes" talking, this is someone who's played many courses and knows the difference between "difficult because of the trees" and "difficult in spite of the trees" - this course is the former. There are at least 3 holes in which it is nearly impossible to score par because of the overgrowth. If you don't believe me, see for yourself!
great old course in Galt
Great course right off the freeway in Galt. Lot's of old growth make it a challenge. Staff was very nice. Club house is pretty old but did the job. A pleasant surprise is the Korean food they serve there. If you have time definitely have lunch there.
Terrible pace. 2:45 front nine , we left. Horrible
Not what it used to be
The course is challenging, but with lack of overall maintenance it’s a lot more difficult than it should be. To the owners you have a nice course clean it up! Pick up the dead wood, clean up the bunkers pull some weeds trim the trees. Where is the beverage cart ? The fairways are good and the greens are good. Some of the holes are picturesque with all of the beautiful oak trees! You have a really nice course but needs some TLC.
Green fees?
Course is getting in better shape. Still need to take care of particular greens. Soggy. Lots of ball marks that are never fixed. Definitely encourage playerss to fix them. Some greens so full of water that there is water in cup. Change the noodles in the cups. Looking dirty. $55 kinda steep
Not worth it.
please avoid for now. Hopefully the course gets better, but from what I've read through the reviews it has not improved.
Another covid full price round
So I love playing Dry Creek. Have for years. But this pricing policy needs attention. Asked if they had a senior rate. The dude said if 2 players are in the same cart then it would be 39 not 46. So if I used my own cart as a senior to avoid the covid it’s full price. I gave him the full price. Just makes me wonder if the senior is getting a fair shake. Or take a chance on getting the bug and save 6 bucks.
Good track. Tough test. Just needs a better thought process on pricing for seniors.
Hidden gem
I played at 6:45 in the morning. There was no one in front of us no one behind us it was excellent. Greens a little wet in the morning but other than that we breezed through the round highly recommend this course. It’s a hidden gem.
Fun in the sun
Anytime you can play golf on the weekday it’s just fun fun in the sun. Course is in fairly good shape but long. A very challenging course if can’t hit long n strait. Overall a fun course.
Not worth jt
I usually don’t do this but for $55 with greens that looked like that haven’t been attended too for months I have too. Carts are old and tee boxes had weeds growing from them. Tree brush not trimmed at all. Sorry but really should be a Lower cost course.
A hidden gem
A hidden gem, pace of play and course condition has always been good. I played in the morning the fairways and greens were wet but other than that the course was in excellent condition
Good day golfing
It was a good fun experience! The staff took good care of us!
If there was any complaints it would be that it was windy! So nobody to blame for that!
My first time out since November so I was really thrilled to be out and golfing!
And I did come in fourth place in our group... so I've got that going for me!
Covid golf Galt
Went back to an old friend Dry Creek Ranch for our weekly Monday round
Having played here 10-20 years ago I know the course layout-what I didn’t remember was how much trees grow in that time.
Lots of trees on this course to navigate. Overall course was a 7 out of 10 due to traps and some really wet areas around the aprons to the greens.
Pace of play impacted by a foursome ahead of us that fell 4 holes behind causing a backup. I can’t understand 5 practice swings then go behind the hall again to line up the shot. Too much tv I suppose. No Marshall btw but these players were Playing some 3rd world hip hop so communication would have been tough
We will play here again. These older courses force you to create shots. Fun.
Golf during Covid19
Such a great day. I have never been to this course. Choose it because it was open! The staff was excellent. Everyone so nice. There was a bit of a wait at a few of the holes, but that was to be expected. First Sunday of golf since quarantine. The golf shop was only open to check in. Staff was wearing masks, although I noticed customers in the shop were not wearing masks. It was a nice day. Glad they were open. Couldn't rate off course amenities since all was closed. I never heard of this golf course and tried it because it was open. I'll will go back. It was fun!!
As good as could be expected with the con vid 19 rules in place
Fun course to play, traps are not maintained but I did appreciate how they constructed the cups. They leave the cup liner below the green but use a stryrafoam around the flag about 1” below the green so the ball does not fall into the bottom of the cup.
Had a good time.
course in good shape too many ball marks on greens please people when you step on to the greens and you see marks bend your lazy as over and fix a couple
Corona golf
Trying times. many golfers spread out
good pace course was nice. I would go back. Drove 90 minutes to get there
