Chateau Elan Golf Club - Woodlands Course

I expected worse conditions. However the course was in great condition. Great value for $54. Tee time was at 1:30. Pace of play was perfect

Love this course, hate that folks can’t seem to be bothered to repair their ball marks on the bent grass greens. Come on guys, repair yours and two others while on the green, it really isn’t that hard to bend over and do it. It is very inconsiderate of your fellow golfers, and bad form to not fix your own mark at a minimum. This fantastic course deserves that you at least do YOUR part in preserving the outstanding aspects of a round on the Woodlands Course. Staff was fantastic! Facilities were fantastic! Cart path only due to recent rains, but that is to be expected. Overall great round, except for having to repair at least 2 ball marks prior to EVERY putt!

Greens a little rough on a few holes but nothing too bad. Excellent staff in clubhouse. Overall a good round of golf.

This was the first time we have played here, and the course itself was challenging and I think would normally be fun to play. The issues started though when there was no starter on the first tee. We pulled up a few minutes before our tee time and the group in front were just leaving the tee, no big deal on a holiday week. However, there was a group of other players playing the forward tees who pulled up about the same time as we did. This was a group of 7 players. We politely asked their tee time and let them know ours, and that we would be playing when the group cleared the fairway. This was polite and thought we were good to go. From that point forward they were impatient and kept hitting behind us and then one of the groups skipped us on a hole and then we had to wait on the next tee box for them to tee off behind the group that we were playing behind. We then had issues on the back nine with the second pairing in their group because of them skipping a hole that slowed things down. This course needs a marshal to prevent issues like this.

As to the course, the tee boxes were in good shape and for the most part the fairways were also. I will say there were lots of divots in the fairways that need to be filled. The greens were rolling nicely, but there were many ball marks on the greens from where people are not repairing them.

The downside here though was that several of the pins were in positions that were impossible to get the ball close, and if you missed a putt you were guaranteed to have a longer second putt if it even stayed on the green.

Overall we would enjoy playing this course again, but we won’t because of the experience with other players on the course.

Probably caused tremendous disruption in teetimes was not handled properly by staff. Five hour and 45 minute round. Greens were In terrible shape and extremely slow course is forgettable at best

Slowed us down , but glad they do it as it saves the condition of course ... grill was a great spot for breakfast to pass the time with very friendly staff.

Greens in great shape for winter . Woodlands definitely is a faders course , with some very challenging tight fairways

Course was in great shape especially the greens given that it is winter. Also coughs a great rate and walked the course in 4.5 hours. It was very busy given the reduced rates. I’ll be back a few times this winter!

Pace of play slow. Behind 2 lady golfers one of whom played well, the other seemingly a beginner. To be fair it appeared on the second nine that they were being held up by male and female who again were like beginners. Being winter the course was dormant although the greens were good generally. No run so a bit of a slog. Advised it was cart path only - surprising as the course was not wet anywhere - although no-one seemed to be complying. Would like to go back in the summer months with different conditions.

My first time playing a full 18 hole course and it was incredible. I of course stubbles a bit but the ease and beautiful landscape made it an incredible starter course. I will definitely be returning whenever I can.

It is usually a challenging course but the flags or in the most difficult place imaginable today it was very interesting

Outstanding course. Clean and tidy fairways and greens.
