About
Chateau Elan boasts three public courses, two championship courses and a nine-hole course, as well as a private golf club, The Legends. The Woodlands Course is one of the public courses. It is considered the most scenic of the three championship layouts with stunning views of the north Georgia foothills and a landscape of sparkling lakes and towering trees. Of the two public championship golf courses, the Woodlands is considered to be slightly more challenging thanks to several tree-lined holes that require a fair amount of accuracy. The rolling terrain provides plenty of elevation changes, so be prepared for some tricky blind shots. The lakes and ponds dotting the course come into play on several holes as well. Although it enjoys a beautiful mountain setting, Chateau Elan is conveniently only 40 minutes from Atlanta.

Winter shape was great.
Course was in great shape especially the greens given that it is winter. Also coughs a great rate and walked the course in 4.5 hours. It was very busy given the reduced rates. I’ll be back a few times this winter!

Course with potential
Pace of play slow. Behind 2 lady golfers one of whom played well, the other seemingly a beginner. To be fair it appeared on the second nine that they were being held up by male and female who again were like beginners. Being winter the course was dormant although the greens were good generally. No run so a bit of a slog. Advised it was cart path only - surprising as the course was not wet anywhere - although no-one seemed to be complying. Would like to go back in the summer months with different conditions.

My first 18!!
My first time playing a full 18 hole course and it was incredible. I of course stubbles a bit but the ease and beautiful landscape made it an incredible starter course. I will definitely be returning whenever I can.

It is usually a challenging course but the flags or in the most difficult place imaginable today it was very interesting

Chateau Woodlands
Pace of play was a little slow but I’ve come to expect it since the Covid started courses are busy every day of the week. I was pleased with the shape of the greens and how well they rolled. I had played this course a couple months ago and the greens had bare areas and were slow. Overall I would recommend this course.

Good day but just short of a great day.....
We had a good day on the course....conditions were good, weather was good BUT the pace of play was like we were stuck in 1st gear....the day could have been great if it wasn't for the fact that it took 5 hours and 5 minutes to play. There was no sight of a marshal to reset the situation.

Greens rolled true and was setup somewhat difficult but both greens and fairways in great shape.

Woodlands course is allowing WAY to many two-somes. They need to combine groups to improve pace of play

Woodlands greens have fully recovered and they are in tournament condition. Staff was super friendly as always. Strongly recommend.

Great course, terrible pace of play
The course itself is in great shape, the greens are rolling perfect, great lies in the fairway and the course layout is really fun. The reason for the poor review is that it took over 4.5 hours to play 12 holes and we started at 10:30am. With all the great options within an hour of Atlanta if I spend $85/person to play golf I expect a superior experience and that was definitely not the case. There are plenty of courses around that are in just as good condition at a better price that you can actually get all 18 holes in under 4.5 hours.
