Chateau Elan Golf Club - Woodlands Course

If you can get out early before the tourists take over - great course.

I really enjoy playing the Woodlands course at Chateau Elan, however I think $85 for a round is very expensive for normal golfers in the area. The course is in great condition and pace of play is good as well.

The course was in good shape overall. The fairways and tees were excellent and the greens were really good. There were a few thin spots and a few spots where aeration dimples could still be observed, but they putted straight and true. The rough was down, so it made finding errant shots easier.

The staff is friendly and the restaurant was excellent. Between us we had mahi-mahi tacos, a classic burger, and a barbecue sandwich and were very pleased with our meals.

The range balls largely need replacing, but are still sufficient for warming up. The grass tees weren't setup yet as we were the first group off. I don't like hitting off mats as it always seems to throw me off for a few holes after I begin playing.

All in all, it was a great day where no one played particularly well, but that was not the course's fault.

Great improvement on the greens. Excellent shape all around the woodlands course. Rolled smooth and pure. Great job to the team there. I will be back.

I played Woodlands a few weeks ago after the bent grass greens had been aerified, and they were stressed out and weren't in good shape. The course is always beautiful, so the situation with the greens was not great, but the club gave a discount because of that so I was happy. Today, the greens were beautiful (a few of the greens are about a week away from being perfect) and the course itself is in great shape. The thing I like about Woodlands is it is so quiet and peaceful with lots of wildlife encounters. The weather was perfect today and it was just a great experience. Woodlands is a challenging course but fair. The staff are very helpful and friendly and do a great job making me feel that they appreciate my patronage. I like both courses but Woodlands is special.

The greens on the Woodlands Course were in bad condition. For the price of 81$ my group and I did not feel as though it was justifiable. It was more like we were paying for the name.

I have played this course a few times this year and don't know what happened to the greens, They were recovering from being aerated but they were in terrible shape. Looks like they have a fungus. The green fees should have been lowered and they should have told us about the problem.

I wasn’t told about the greens being aerated until we arrived and paid.

I felt compelled to share how bad these greens are. Appears they were punched late in the season but I am no greens specialist. They are very soft and the ball plugs leaving a bumpy surface that is nearly unputtable. Just a heads up.

Fairways were awesome and the tee boxes pretty well kept, but the greens were the worst I've ever seen. No bunker upkeep, dead and dying greens. Dead spots everywhere. For the money and Chateau elan prestige it wasn't worth it.

The course was actually in good shape except for the greens, probably some of the worst I have played on in years. They were recently aerated but they were so much worse. I was playing as part of an annual tournament and was excited to play this course but was very disappointed with the greens. There were also people in front of us hitting 3-4 balls all the time. It was only a twosome and our foursome was always waiting on them. There were no marshals on the course and the wait times were frustrating. You would have thought for the money that it would have been a better experience.

Greens are currently in terrible condition. Even when you consider the aerating process it’s worse than other courses I’ve played normally this is a decent 4 star course but it was overpriced today and the greens really awful

$47. Pace of play could have been better but a resort course with residents and others mixed in.

Greens were awful. Many of them are on verge of being lost. So many deep unrepaired ball marks and spotty conditions made putting a joke. Speeds inconsistent at best.

Fairways in pretty decent shape mostly good lies in fairway.

Tee boxes decent not great.

Off fairway was bad. Not much upkeep in rough areas...many times unplayable.

Clearly not putting money back into the course. Gonna catch up with them sooner or later.

If you're staying at resort and have time and transportation many public and semi private in area that are far superior

The greens are in horrible shape. Seems as if no ball marks are repaired and issues with the grass. Championship tee boxes were in fair to poor shape.

Have a sign on door saying they are not responsible if you contract COVID there. Then tell you to have a cart where you can social distance it’s 35$ Extra. For the cart! Which I did. This is with that area being some of the hottest in contracting the virus. They obviously don’t care.
