About
Chateau Elan boasts three public courses, two championship courses and a nine-hole course, as well as a private golf club, The Legends. The Woodlands Course is one of the public courses. It is considered the most scenic of the three championship layouts with stunning views of the north Georgia foothills and a landscape of sparkling lakes and towering trees. Of the two public championship golf courses, the Woodlands is considered to be slightly more challenging thanks to several tree-lined holes that require a fair amount of accuracy. The rolling terrain provides plenty of elevation changes, so be prepared for some tricky blind shots. The lakes and ponds dotting the course come into play on several holes as well. Although it enjoys a beautiful mountain setting, Chateau Elan is conveniently only 40 minutes from Atlanta.

Fun, Challenging Course in Excellent Condition
Prior to beginning your round, the practice area is top notch with an excellent short game practice area.
The course was in great condition. The only negative is that the greens are bent grass and in order to keep the bent brass lush and nice in the hot summer the greens have to be kept moist which makes for a softer green surfice which really leaves a ball mark on the greens. The greens had quite a few non-repaired ball marks, especially the greens with false fronts. Many of the non-repaired ball marks were large, fresh and obvious. I don’t understand why golfers do not repair their ball marks on the greens.
The course is a fu,n, plays long and is a challenging layout. There are lots of hills and elevation changes.
The course conditions were outstanding. The pace of play was excellent today and the greens (other than the numerous ball marks) were in very good condition with lots of slopes and undulations. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend Chateau Elan.

First time at Woodlands
Course was in immaculate condition. The only issue was there wasn’t a course layout to study. Will definitely be back!

Very nice course. It won't terrify a beginner but it also offers challenges to a good golfer.

Overbooked
I like the course and the staff are nice. But...>5 hour round. You simply can’t book 6 tee times/ hour all day, with no Marshall to enforce pace of play and expect anything else. Ran out of carts,.

So Slow!!!
If you love 5+ hour rounds, no Marshall and running out of carts, this was the place for you. You can’t book that many people in such a short time, provide no one to enforce some kind of pace and expect a good experience. I saw at least multiple groups just give up and leave. Lesson learned-I will find someplace else to play next time.

Challenging Resort Course
Booked a Sat morning tee time for <$50 at GolfNow. Greens were aerified on Tuesday, but they ran straight and true. Great hilly layout except for one gimmicky par-5 on the backside. Course conditions were outstanding. Would definitely recommend.

Great conditions, SUPER SLOW
Pace of play was terrible, I don’t understand how it gets super backed up where the group in front of us on #1 is teeing off 6 minutes passed our tee time..... no Marshall’s on the course to make sure pace of play is moving along. Also, the cart girl game by one tome on the front 9 and was out of food and promised to be back within 30-45 min and never came back over the next 2.5-3 hrs.
I’ve played here a few times and have had a overall a decent experience but this is the second time that pace of play has been horrendous and I’ve definitely taken them out of consideration for my company golf outting I’m planning
