About
Chateau Elan boasts three public courses, two championship courses and a nine-hole course, as well as a private golf club, The Legends. The Woodlands Course is one of the public courses. It is considered the most scenic of the three championship layouts with stunning views of the north Georgia foothills and a landscape of sparkling lakes and towering trees. Of the two public championship golf courses, the Woodlands is considered to be slightly more challenging thanks to several tree-lined holes that require a fair amount of accuracy. The rolling terrain provides plenty of elevation changes, so be prepared for some tricky blind shots. The lakes and ponds dotting the course come into play on several holes as well. Although it enjoys a beautiful mountain setting, Chateau Elan is conveniently only 40 minutes from Atlanta.

Putting green is the worst
The golf course layout was good, but the putting green had a lot of divots here and there and it was so bad. It was the worst golf course I've played recently. What a waste of money. It's a golf course I don't want to go to for the time being.
Amazed the greens are not worse
Cart path only given the rain
The greens are so soft that pitches make a huge mark.. However the greens are amazingly good.. perhaps the damage is so bad on pitch marks that people repair them
Good layout.. Wish they would trim trees on right on 16th tee..
The greens just need some TLC. The rest of the course is in great condition, but the greens looked a bit scarred up. I’m not trying to be negative either, they were rolling fairly well for the condition.
Some points to improve
The woodland shave bent green and Chateau has bermuda.. They have to keep bent greens super soft to survive ...
Huge ball markets
Wish they would smooth the cart path to the rough. Some huge holes
It is a good course..
Greens are starting to get some other grasses growing in on the greens
Hope it does not go like Stone mountain disaster
Hot and slow pace.
90+ degrees and followed 2 sets of 4 Asian ladies who all had to use the restrooms on course
Challenging
Course is in amazing shape and everyone was awesome there. The course layout makes it challenging to score low IMO. Very few flat lies on both fairway and greens. Greens were slow which was surprising. Probably to prevent heat burn though. Will play other course most likely next time.
For the high price, the overall condition of the course is underwhelming, and the greens are in particularly poor shape

Pro shop warned the greens were super soft and indeed they were.. .
Pitch marks were deep.
Hit a hot three wood into the 15th par 5 and it spun back. That is how soft the greens are for now. Guess have to protect them in the heat
The only area where could improve the course is around the cart path edges which are often bare..
They do a great lunch

The course was in great shape. Enjoyed the day out with friends
