About
Chateau Elan boasts three public courses, two championship courses and a nine-hole course, as well as a private golf club, The Legends. The Woodlands Course is one of the public courses. It is considered the most scenic of the three championship layouts with stunning views of the north Georgia foothills and a landscape of sparkling lakes and towering trees. Of the two public championship golf courses, the Woodlands is considered to be slightly more challenging thanks to several tree-lined holes that require a fair amount of accuracy. The rolling terrain provides plenty of elevation changes, so be prepared for some tricky blind shots. The lakes and ponds dotting the course come into play on several holes as well. Although it enjoys a beautiful mountain setting, Chateau Elan is conveniently only 40 minutes from Atlanta.

Aeration- No warning, Range Problems
Book a hot deal via Golf Now. There was no alert that the greens had been aerated this week. The greens were awful. In addition went to range and ball machine was empty due to a tourney that was starting on other course and they had emptied machine. So a guy comes out after we waited 10 minutes and drives on range and gets us balls to hit. Then about 5 minutes later another guy comes up and tells us they are closing range for maintenance. What a joke. We hit about 10 balls each because they had no balls and then closed the range. No warning about this or aeration. Terrible experience.

This was my second time playing at Chateau Elan. Both courses are in excellent shape. The staff here is amazing! Shout out to Brandon who makes you feel welcome.

First time at Woodlaands
Great layout and challenging course. Course was in great shape for this time of year. Definitely will be looking to go back and play there again

Woodlands
The fairways were aerated but in great condition. Greens were fairly firm and fast but the putts rolled nice. The course is in pretty good shape. Great value & always love the layout.

Great course in the area
This course is one of my favorites in the area. The layout is great as long as you keep it in the fairway. They have some reachable par 5’s and some tough par 3’s. The greens are great but my only concern is that there is not a bent grass practice green near the woodlands course. Their other course has Bermuda greens. They have the best bunkers in the area. Even with all the rain we have had they drain amazingly. My only problem with chataue elan is the carts. They are outdated and I’ve been in some that don’t even have a key in them. Overall I love this course and can’t wait until the spring to play it more often.

Great course but could be better
Carts are beat up and need replacing. Bathroom facilitiy at hole 8 is like a shack and another bathroom on the back 9 would be appreciated as you don’t return to the clubhouse at the turn. Greens had lots of unrepaired divots. Pace of play was great, course layout is great with lots of elevation change. Will be back I just hope some things can be improved to enhance the experience.

Great Shape
For all of the rain that we'd recently had (7 + days worth) this course was in excellent condition. Yes, there were a few wet/muddy spots and the greens were soft, but overall this course looked good and played like it!
I'm looking forward to playing both, the Woodlands and Chateau courses, each with their own beautiful and challenging layouts, in the upcoming months.
