Chateau Elan Golf Club - Woodlands Course

While Chateau Elan is certainly known for its winery, the golf is nothing to sneeze at, and that certainly includes the Chateau Course. From the wine bottle-shaped and named tee markers to the wide fairways, nearly everything about this course is fun. No two holes are alike, the routing is terrific and if you play the right tees, it's not overly difficult. Best of all, it was renovated two years ago, so it has a fresh new look, including new Tif-Eagle greens that rolled perfectly.

Beautiful course surrounded by beautiful homes. Greens are in good shape, roll true, and moderately quick. There was hardly anyone on the course with me, and the few people I caught up to, let me play through. I’ll definitely make an effort to play again.

Got a great online price. Clubhouse employee recommended some Pinnacle softs and they were nice for the price. Course was manicured well with lots of distance depending on your tee selection. Overall, a nice round on a beautiful day on a nice course. Only thing I could ask for would be a few more birdies.

Greens recently punched. Probably within a week. I can’t believe that the aeration was scheduled for the week before Labor Day and there’s a couple holes that they’re doing a good bit of work on. I like this course and would normally recommend it to anyone but the price was too high for what is going on. Also when I booked, I didn’t see any aeration notification. The staff is always courteous and professional and the renovation to the clubhouse is gorgeous. This is only a temporary rating but, by October 1, it should be back in shape.

My biggest issue with this club are the golf carts. They need new batteries badly. The last time we played here a month ago our cart barely made it to the end, and yesterday it died with 3 holes left. We had to get a push back to the clubhouse. Normally this is a good course.The new clubhouse recently opened and its beautiful - one of the nicest I have walked through, and that includes the mystical Shadow Creek in Las Vegas. I like the layout and the challenge. Rarely is there a wait for groups ahead of you. In the summer the course conditions lag a little due to the heat.The tees and greens get stressed. Tees are thin and since there are no fans the greens are having to be constantly watered and are super soft. I like this course and I hope that Troon Management coming in will help sort out some of the course maintenance issues.

I have played the Woodlands course several times. Each time I have played the Woodlands course I always enjoy the course and the conditions are always great (the greens have lots of non-repaired ball marks).

I really like the course layout. The conditions have always been very good. The greens are bent grass and in order to keep them alive, they have to be watered frequently during the summer heat. Due to the frequent watering required, the greens are always soft with very little roll-out. My biggest complaint about the course are the many non-repaired ball marks and marks on the greens from ball marks which were not repaired which are now just bare dirt. I always repair three or four ball marks on each green hoping to help and assist the condition of the greens..

There are lots of elevation changes with up-hill and down-hill shots. The elevation changes adds to the challenging course.

The pace of play was excellent. Never had to wait at all. The clubhouse and restaurant are being updated and upgraded. It will be nice when it is finally completed.

Get a deal on golf now and you will not regret taking the time and opportunity to play the Woodlands course.

Honestly I think the price break to play this course is a gift from the golf gods because it’s definitely worth the price! Excellent greens, fairways, and course in general.

I can say that I have never had any bad experiences at Chateau Elan, on either course, and the staff is always accommodating. The courses are always consistent. From tee to green, they’re in good shape. Denis Griffith’s courses are always fun.

Nice layout. Great shape. Nice bent grass greens, but players need to repair ball marks. Teed off at 10:30 and never saw anyone ahead of us until the 16th green. Enjoyed our round.

The course is in great shape. The bent grass greens were rolling at a nice pace.

Had a great time front 9 had a lot of houses but the back 9 was great mostly all wooded. Weather came in at the last 2 holes but we were able to finish.Went to car to drop off clubs & attendants came to car to get golf cart (bad weather). Not that crowded for a Friday afternoon not feeling rushed next time Son comes to town we will play there again!

For early in the season the course is in great shape and if you like fast greens that putt true you would enjoy playing here
