the fairways are good. the greens needs to be maintained.
the fairways are in good shape. the greens however are slow and bumpy, it needs to be cut and be level (smooth).
this course is well maintainded
the staff is superior, the fairways are well taken care of,
it is rather flat but is nobodies fault.
the air port next door is noisy.
Good value
Good value compared to the money I paid. Course condition needs improvement but understand the price will be justified.
excellent value!
The course has a good layout for the beginner or novice golfer, as most of the fairways are wide open. Also, the course is relatively flat, making it easy to walk, if you choose. I found it a good place to get a practice round in during the week!
The cart path needs immediate attention! Too many pot holes.
Good conditions except the cart paths need immediate attention! Too many pot holes.
Nice course, very friendly staff
My only complaint was the pace of play. Instead of grouping people together, there were singles, twos, threes and foursomes so it made for a slow pace of play.
good layout
Fairways are spotty but overall playable. My biggest complaint is that the greens are bumpy and slow. Grass on greens was fuzzy, long. If the greens would be more like the practice green by the first tee, the experience would be way more enjoyable and worthy of return trips. This was my first time back on this course after a long break.
WIDE, FAST AND FERM
PERFECT DAY,COURSE AND COMPANY,PLAYED A GOOD GAME WITH MY PET,YES A PET FRIENDLY COURSE.
Nice course, great deal
Got a super deal--$20 per person, cart included. It's also a perfect course for novice golfers like me
skywest a great place to work on long irons and budget
Drive a little, save a lot! The scenery is boring, next to an airport, not really a lot to look at. But the course is challenging, especially pin placements. My buddy said they should roll the greens, they were slightly bumpy. $32 with cart on a beautiful day...we would have spent double that in San Jose.A great place to work on your long irons and your budget.
Needs improvement.
I been to several public courses recently, and I observed that cost of playing is usually related to the condition of the fairway. I find this one a little bit pricey for considering its status.
Flat course with lots of trees.
The greens had been punched and sanded within the last 2 weeks. The grass was long and the greens were very slow. The fairways show areas that need work. Overall, though, the course is fun to play. The handicap ranges for the various tees are on the score card and that was very helpful to decide what tees to use.
Lower cost muni
Good- The course played long with afternoon wind and the fairways were green. Lots of trees to make you stay in the middle. Enough water holes.
Bad- Most holes are flat and straight with no reason to place a shot. No rain lately yet standing water on fairways makes it impossble to walk through it or hit out of it. You sink in the muck. The greens are slow and you are putting through trenches and low spots, not just bare patches of green. Much work needed on greens. Super windy the day I went 11:52 teeoff.
good fairways. areas around trees needed attention. great value
We enjoyed the day. The price was excellent. The cart was well maintained. There were several area that were over watered and the back nine greens had been aeriated. The cart paths can use some upkeep as there were many potholes along the way.
A couple of fixes and this could be a top course
Front nine holes are a bit on the soft wide with water / marsh present on some. Back nine holes were a lot better from a drainage perspective and a nice experience.
Couple of criticisms / areas for improvements
1. Drainage on the front nine holes
2. There are very few signs to show where the next hole is located, especially when they are not within eyesight.
3. Greens are very spongy - weird type of grass!
On the plus - good food and bar area, back nine holes wee well presented.
Fun course, good value
Moderate difficulty from the tips particularly when the fairways are wet and there is little role. The greens held well but were very slow. No one in front of us on a Saturday afternoon made for a lightening fast round of golf. Flat somewhat boring straightforward layout but a good value nonetheless.
From the blue tees it was challenging to reach the green in two on some par 4s
The weather was perfect and the pace of play was great. I finished 18 holes in less than 3.5 hours. The course tests your skills through reasonable hazards and length. Cart paths should be replaced.
Always enjoy playing Skywest.
Played round in under 4 hours. Always a plus. Plenty of trees to make it interesting. Hit it in the fairway and you will have a good score.
For what it's worth...
It's not the worst public golf course I've played. The staff is cordial and attentive. That's always a plus. But the deep muddy cart tracks, various unkept rough areas, and pumpy greens really bring the the playing experience down. I can't seem to remember one green that gave even close to a "true" roll on the ball. The pace of play is decent and I suppose all in all, you get what you pay for. It's worth at least a try.
