Skywest Golf Course
Generally the course was in excellent condition except for the sand traps. Bunkers had very little sand and your clubs would just bounce and skull the ball..
The starter was sending out 5-somes. We were an hour into the round and still standing on the 2nd tee box(w/2 other groups)
Terrible managment
Well, I really loved skywest for a long time. It's only a half hour from Daly City, and it's always a place to kind of get away, but not be too far. I went there to play with a close friend who is a bit older and never walks because of personal reasons. This day, the ground was firm, no wetness, and the manager said cart paths only. We should have left from the start seeing all the debree all over the place, but still decided to go out. the marshall even said that he thought it was ok at least for a 90 degree rule. He tried on several occasions to ask for the 90 degree rule since it was sunny and the ground was normal. In the end, this manager seemed to have a control issue! I never had a problem with the gardner's before, but this day, they were all over us! While we were playing, they were like 5 yards away following us and leaving engines on machines running. I would have thought they would have came out earlier to clean up. They were using big blowers blowing debree in our faces. Terrible! Hate to say it, but I won't be going back as long as this power control manager is there!
course
course has recently been aireated. was cart path only due to rain.
Course still recovering from all the rain
Still some areas that have deep mud and some of the fairways are like rough but all in all it pretty good shape. Green almost done.
Fish in the fairway
We played SkyWest on a sunny day post many rainy days. Fairways were boggy and on the second fairway as I attempted my chip two dead fish were staring at me.
The pond is two fairways to the west. The day was cart path only, boggy everywhere. Lost balls in the fairway.
Pro shop and restaurant staff very nice and friendly but very long day in the mud. This course is much more fun in better conditions
After all the rain it was playable
Got great weather in the course played fair for the conditions
This course have a very poor drainage system
It was three sunny days after the storm and the course was very saturated still, need to get the drain system improved, 80% of the course was very muddy.
This course is very friendly and forgiving!
For the price I paid to play this course it was not worth the price. When I check in the staff was ok not helpful at all. The marshall had us start on the back 9, unfortunately we were right behind a very very slow 2 somes, and the 4 somes in front of them was almost as slow as the 2 some. It took us almost 3 hours to play 9 holes. In the middle of our round the Marshall kept warm us not to drive on the fairway, fairway was dry and nice, took us it cart path and rough only, so we did that. Then came again and took us to enter it at a 90°. Why didn't the counter staff or the cart staff told us this in the first place. After all that, thwy told us that we have to turn in the cart, ao qe didn't finish our round. For the price I paid didn't get to finish 5 holes left to play.
I'd like the course

Skywest rocks
great little golf course with well manicured greens and expansive tree lined fairways. If you keep it straight you won't run into any hazards!!! Always a fun round of golf!
Getting out
I'm always looking to take my game to the next level and this course was flat but it did take me to the next level with dog legs left and right along with a swimming hole along some of the fairways.
not much slope % plays long
Play was a little slow. Course is flat but plays long. Some thick rough and greens need to be rolled. Fairways have what looks like to be Bermuda Grass with not much roll. Bay is close by so air is heavy and course plays long.
No more difficult marshals please!
SkyWest is a good muni course. The location is convenient and it's a good value. I have played this course countless times and sure, it's not perfect, but I have never felt the need to write a review about the small shortcomings. That is no longer the case after the unpleasant (I'll keep it civil) experience today. To begin, the course raised the price on the monthly pass without any prior notice to its' customers (I receive regular emails from the course). I have no problem with supporting the local public courses, but a little heads up would be nice. The conditions were below average (for what I've seen of this course) as some of the bunkers were just bare (hit 1in and you've bottomed out). The worse part of my round was dealing with the unruly marshal that kept bothering me throughout my round. He apparently doesn't greet people when you greet him. He didn't speak to me with a respectful tone. He either went straight to a command or it was a question. I was having a decent round, but he completely ruined the rest of my golf for the day. I mean, what gives? I was quite upset after my round, but I didn't storm into the pro shop asking for an apology or anything. I have no explanation to why he treated me the way he did, but I truly hope Hayward parks and rec. dept. can do something about it (maybe a refresher training on manners and job responsibilities for the marshals?)
Skywest special rate bargain
Course in above average condition pace is slower than normal since group in front
Slow play
Slow slow slow. 3 hour front nine. Walk off course on the 16th. I have played this course on numerous times and it always plays slow, however, this time was horrendous. Like the track, just not the pace of play. So, if you have the time play the course. Beware.
