About
Nestled amongst the gently rolling hills of Rockdale County, Cherokee Run Golf Club lies within the Georgia International Horse Park. Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the course. Occupied for centuries by the Cherokee Indians, dozens of arrowheads were found in the Georgian red clay as the golf course was being built. The beautiful landscape is covered in granite outcroppings, native wetlands, and dense hardwood forests. The towering trees line the fairways and the steep inclines throughout the course provide fast, undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on six holes at Cherokee Run Golf Club and there are nearly 100 strategically placed bunkers. The course's signature hole is the par-3 third. This challenging hole demands an accurate tee shot in order to safely make it past the sand bunkers that border both sides of the fairway.

This course has everything
Beautiful greens and Fairways. Golf carts have GPS and score keeping. Golf shop and facilities are very classy yet the staff is extremely friendly. Perfect package.

What a great way to spend the day after Labor Day!
The last time I played this course, it ate my lunch. Today, I took a little time to get familiar with the greens and that seemed to be the difference. The course was perfect; from the tees to the green. The greens are probably the fastest and smoothest that I have ever played. However, they rolled true and that is a plus. I had a very early tee time on a Tuesday; didn't see a cart person for drinks and such, but, I was moving at such a great pace, I didn't mind that one bit. There are signs absolving the course from any covid related liability or death, but, I have seen and heard this to be happening in numerous other places. Practiced safety first, so, I didn't have a concern here. I don't normally pay over forty bucks to golf, but truth be told; I'd pay that again for a course in such great condition. If you are in the area, give them a try. I plan on being back in the near future.

Want to Play Again
The greens are fast-- fair-- and the most challenging part of the course. Played all of the clubs in my bag. The tee boxes were improved over the last time I played when they had bare patches. This time the entire course was in excellent shape. My only wish is that I lived closer than the 40 minutes it takes to get to the course. Though the drive is worth it.

The course has great views.
I really enjoyed the course. It was my first time playing so it was a bit challenging because there are a number of blind tee shots. Fairway and greens are in good shape. Very fair price.

Good layout, great condition, highly recommend
Early afternoon tee time on Friday still had great pace of play. One of the best public courses I’ve played in Atlanta area for the value, and can definitely play challenging. Seems like they’ve been cart path only a while, but it has kept the fairways in awesome shape. Greens rolling true, smooth, and fast, but very soft. Driving range had newer balls and good turf. Even golfers with high standards would really enjoy!
