Cottonwood is a fine value.
Cottonwood is a great value and a good test for an average golfer. Bare bones. But that's ok.

Fun at Cottonwood
I have played Cottonwood several times this year. Greens, First Cut and Sand Traps are good. Fairways, like most in SD County, are decent. Clubhouse could use a facelift. I will return again.

Relatively easy, straightforward course.. nice staff.

For the price it’s one of the best deals in SD. The course was green, good shape. Greens stimp to about 9-10 but smooth.

Outstanding course/condition… pace of play not good
This is the best track for the price in San Diego!!! Layout is challenging but fair from the correct tee. Greens are maintained well.
Pace of play is however horrendous… it’s not that it’s even that busy on a weekend. Problem I see is no Marshall’s enforcing pace of play throughout the course and the local “members” are playing like it’s Sunday at Augusta. 5 1/2” hour rounds are no fun for anyone
Good course for me. Only started about a year ago.
Good place for me since I've only been playing about a year. One trouble is two different prices for the same t-time two weekdays apart (M & W) Mon was $41. We'd. was $31. Both with cart. Golfnow was $31. Calling the course was $41.
First Time Playing - Weekday
I played on Veterans Day, 11/11/21. The course was very green. Good fairways, 7.6/10 greens, and holes each presented their own challenge. Pace of play was a a little on the slower side, however, it was a holiday. I will be coming back.
low dollar course
You get what you pay for: too many drunks on a Saturday afternoon. Some type of club outing stacked the course up. 5 hours plus. The employees try but the owner is just taking the money and not reinvesting a dime into this facility. But it keeps it prices low and you really do get what you pay for. It would be a great investment for someone who loves golf to buy and wants to restore what was a good East County course to its former condition.
Very Good condition
I play all over the SD area and this is one of my favorite courses to play, a little rough around the edges but in great shape where it matters. Don’t be turned off by parking lot and driving range.
Great Layout
Course is in great condition. Plenty of water keeps the fairways and greens in great shape. Can't beat the value.
