This course compares with most top courses in Georgia. It's design and layout provides excellent challenges for the avid golfer. This public course has well manicured fairways and the best greens around. My hat's off to the greens keeper. The facilities and staff are friendly and the service excellent. I am considering membership at this club for the future.
Nice Greens!
We played this course after a couple days of rain, so most holes had some "mush" in front of most greens.
Tee boxes were looking a little rough as well.
That being said, this course if fun to play. It can be a challenge. The greens are fast and large.
Great course , range and staff. Can't wait to play here again.
Players Club Membership here is a STEAL!
I am a players club member here which is literally the best thing I've ever done for my wallet and golf game. There's no mats at the range so you always hit off real grass which is really something to value. The putting green is HUGE which is nice. The course is in great shape right now and you definitely have to find fairways here or you will be punished.
There are a few minor things I would love to see changed over the coming months/years. The driving range is downhill and anything between (depending on the tee location) 130-160 and 240-270 completely disappears so you don't know where your balls are landing. The practice chipping area isn't too bad but it would be nice to see similar greens to the course with more space to actually hit 20-50 yard shots. The last thing is some of tee boxes are a little crazy, ie no. 2 back tee is almost entirely blocked out by overhanging limbs and the only way to hit the fairway is to hit a cut/slice as anything straight or drawing will end up dead. Similar with back tee of no 11, especially if right pin placement. Otherwise, proud to use this as my home course!
5 Hours to play 15 holes
I play this course about a dz times a year...normally 4 hours to maybe 4.5 hours even on a Saturday is the norm...we got in 15 holes in a little over 5 hours before the rain came...to be fair I'm calling it out of the norm.
The course itself...Apalachee is in great shape, maybe a tee box or two they need to figure out what type of grass will grow on them, but FWs, Bunkers, Greens all in good shape....2nd yr for the new greens...more receptive now and they have cut them down...considerably faster than this time last year.
Right now, fairway is a premium. Rough is thick...watch them closely or you will spend a lot of time looking for your ball in the rough.
May not be the greatest layout for a golf course, but it's challenging and fun to play...you have some great risk reward type holes, and you have some holes like 18 where par is will be well earned.Hard to find a better value in Gwinnett county.
Great conditions
Second time playing this course and the conditions were great!
Great Course Unfriendly Staff
I love coming to this course because it is less than 5 miles away from home. However, when I played there this past Sunday the gentleman working the check in desk (Patrick) was very rude. I explained to him that instead of a four person group we have three, and before I could explain why, he told me there is a $20 fee for "no shows" and that he was being nice and not going to charge me. I tried to explain to him that my friend called me ten minutes ago and let me know that his wife was up all night sick and pregnant, and that he was not able to make it. After hearing about his wife, the last thing on my mind was to call the golf course and let them know. In any event as my anger increased, the gentleman at the desk began to get angry with me because I said that I did not appreciate the way he was talking to me. He yelled at me and said I don't need your business, we have plenty of nice people here and I (Patrick) should charge you the $20. Needless to say, I will no longer play at this course, If that is the way they feel that my money is no good there, I have no problem taking my business elsewhere. I am a players club member and I have played monthly tournaments at the course. I am shocked and appalled that this prestigious course would treat a member this way.
Great Shape
This course was in GREAT shape. The greens were near perfect!
Great Course
This is a great course but it took us 5 hours and 30 minutes to play 18. I don't blame the course management but slow players. One foursome held up everybody.
CPA
The course is very well maintained except the tee box area. The blue tee boxes are almost all on the slope not on a flat area. It makes driving shots very difficult.
Perfect greens, but hard as a rock!!
TC Apalachee has gone to Champions, and they are perfect!! The only problem is they are immature, and still are not holding approach shots well. Pick a club to land short, and hope far a good bounce. If you attack a back pin, you'll be long and short side yourself.
Majority of the fairways are perfect!! Go play!!
Nice course conditions, great value
It's been 4 years since I had played here and the course conditions have improved. Fairways were nice, greens were great. There ways some areas around the edges of holes that lacked grass or needed work, but all the fairways and greens were nice.
Pace of play started a little slow but picked up and we finished right on time. Staff was friendly and the rate was great for a weekend afternoon.
I enjoyed the round and was glad to see the course in such great shape. When I'm back in the area I'll be playing here again.
Fast Greens
Nice course, in good shape with lightning fast greens. Most of the fairways were pretty tight, although there were a couple that were fairly wide. No water to worry about, but there are some natural hazards (creeks, gullies, etc.). Overall an enjoyable round on a pretty tough course.
Great course better people
Fun and. Challenging course. Select your distancel and landing area carefully. Greens are in top shape
The most friendly staff in Gwinn etc County
Course in Great Shape
Fairways and greens are in great shape. Interesting holes. Tough but fair course. A lot of distance between holes - not a course for walkers. Well worth the $44 I paid from GolfNow rate. Long drive from where I live. Will play again for this rate.
Nice course
TC of Apalachee is a nice course. Layout is somewhat challenging and the greens are not as easy to read as they may appear. The whole course seemed to be well maintained and greens rolled well for the most part. The only real down side that day was that it got real hot. So that is not a course judgement, but it may have impacted the way I played certain holes. The beverage cart came around at regular intervals, so that was good. Overall a good experience.
Rainy Day
I played after work when a thunderstorm had just passed over. I had the course to myself and was able to take my time on every shot. The course was in good shape but some of the greens did have some dead spots around the edges. The overall layout was challenging, but still fun to play. Rarely did I have a shot where I didn't have to consider the change in elevation when selecting a club. I would play here again for sure and hope for better weather next time.
Greens roll true
Our pace of play was a little slow for an early morning tee time. The greens were firm but rolled true.

I played here early last year and the course was not in good shape however they have turned it around. The greens were perfect, the fairways were much better. Some of the tee boxed were still rough however playable. Overall an enjoyable course.
course in decent condition, staff needs to loosen up though
Play here a good bit because I live in the area but yesterday was probably the last time. I brought my 8yr old daughter with me who loves to ride the cart and they insisted I pay an extra cart fee. Said they were booked up all afternoon and that was the reason but there were several groups in front and behind us with fewer than 4 players. Seems like they had plenty of carts so why charge me extra for quality time with my child? Not good customer service at all.
Do NOT waste your $
Our threesome waited 5 minutes on every hole waiting to tee off. No rangers to be seen. Got to the 10th hole and there were 4 groups, including ourselves, on the hole. After 4 1/2 hours we were only able to finish 13 holes. We decided we'd had enough. While heading back to the club house we got to 15 and there was a group of 5 that had just tee off. Holes 16, 17 and 18 were all empty. Again, NOT a ranger in site.
