The course is very well maintained except the tee box area. The blue tee boxes are almost all on the slope not on a flat area. It makes driving shots very difficult.
Perfect greens, but hard as a rock!!
TC Apalachee has gone to Champions, and they are perfect!! The only problem is they are immature, and still are not holding approach shots well. Pick a club to land short, and hope far a good bounce. If you attack a back pin, you'll be long and short side yourself.
Majority of the fairways are perfect!! Go play!!
Nice course conditions, great value
It's been 4 years since I had played here and the course conditions have improved. Fairways were nice, greens were great. There ways some areas around the edges of holes that lacked grass or needed work, but all the fairways and greens were nice.
Pace of play started a little slow but picked up and we finished right on time. Staff was friendly and the rate was great for a weekend afternoon.
I enjoyed the round and was glad to see the course in such great shape. When I'm back in the area I'll be playing here again.
Fast Greens
Nice course, in good shape with lightning fast greens. Most of the fairways were pretty tight, although there were a couple that were fairly wide. No water to worry about, but there are some natural hazards (creeks, gullies, etc.). Overall an enjoyable round on a pretty tough course.
Great course better people
Fun and. Challenging course. Select your distancel and landing area carefully. Greens are in top shape
The most friendly staff in Gwinn etc County
Course in Great Shape
Fairways and greens are in great shape. Interesting holes. Tough but fair course. A lot of distance between holes - not a course for walkers. Well worth the $44 I paid from GolfNow rate. Long drive from where I live. Will play again for this rate.
Nice course
TC of Apalachee is a nice course. Layout is somewhat challenging and the greens are not as easy to read as they may appear. The whole course seemed to be well maintained and greens rolled well for the most part. The only real down side that day was that it got real hot. So that is not a course judgement, but it may have impacted the way I played certain holes. The beverage cart came around at regular intervals, so that was good. Overall a good experience.
Rainy Day
I played after work when a thunderstorm had just passed over. I had the course to myself and was able to take my time on every shot. The course was in good shape but some of the greens did have some dead spots around the edges. The overall layout was challenging, but still fun to play. Rarely did I have a shot where I didn't have to consider the change in elevation when selecting a club. I would play here again for sure and hope for better weather next time.
Greens roll true
Our pace of play was a little slow for an early morning tee time. The greens were firm but rolled true.
Recommended
I played here early last year and the course was not in good shape however they have turned it around. The greens were perfect, the fairways were much better. Some of the tee boxed were still rough however playable. Overall an enjoyable course.
course in decent condition, staff needs to loosen up though
Play here a good bit because I live in the area but yesterday was probably the last time. I brought my 8yr old daughter with me who loves to ride the cart and they insisted I pay an extra cart fee. Said they were booked up all afternoon and that was the reason but there were several groups in front and behind us with fewer than 4 players. Seems like they had plenty of carts so why charge me extra for quality time with my child? Not good customer service at all.
Do NOT waste your $
Our threesome waited 5 minutes on every hole waiting to tee off. No rangers to be seen. Got to the 10th hole and there were 4 groups, including ourselves, on the hole. After 4 1/2 hours we were only able to finish 13 holes. We decided we'd had enough. While heading back to the club house we got to 15 and there was a group of 5 that had just tee off. Holes 16, 17 and 18 were all empty. Again, NOT a ranger in site.
Unique course
Interesting and unique course. Not in the best of shape. Sandy tee boxes inhibited tee shots.
Close to Coolray Field
Needed a course that I could play that was in close proximity to Coolray Field. I was able to play a 4 hour 15 min round and drive across town to watch a baseball game. Well kept greens! Lots of elevation changes and water hazards made shot precision important. Relatively short course, but accuracy critical. Nice course, friendly staff, and a great Golf Now rate! A great way to spend a day off.
A bit slower this time
People walked into pro shop with no tee time. I noticed they inserted folks between other's tee time (not the first time) which slowed the pace.
Fun Time...
Had a great day, played with one of my best friends. First time to play this year...so my game was a little off. The only issue with the course (AND NOT ANYONE'S FAULT), was we had had about a week of rain, and the course was very soft! Look forward to another round soon.
A rainy day = a hidden gem
Me and my weekend partner Jacob had decided to head to the PGA Superstore because of the rain that had hit all morning long. However as we got near Atlanta we decided to see if any course was open and low and behold we found one! The course was wet but it was very nice and gave us a highly enjoyable round of golf. The greens and fairways were in great shape even with the wet conditions. I can only imagine how the course looks and plays on a dry day. The course itself was fairly easy for a long hitter as myself (avg. 295 yard drive) but it still had many surprises and tough ridges to read in the green. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is looking for a course that is in great shape and that provides a great atmosphere/ scenery. The creek that constantly flows throughout the course is an added touch to how simply beautiful the course is!
Had a good time
We had a group of 4, we had no waiting issues though I can't say the same for the group behind us unfortunately. Only on the front 9 though.
The staff was friendly, Patrick is always friendly yet I wish I could say the same for Darius.
It was very wet that day and the course was soggy, greens were in good shape though.
If you play there often or just want to use a range then joining the Players Club is absolutely worth it.
Need some Work
A nice course that is going through some renovations. Greens were covered in chemicals making ball movement dodgy at best. Fairways were tall with little dinference from the fringe. Possibly further into summer the conditions may change. Friendly staff.
