Turkey Creek Golf Club
About
Turkey Creek Golf Club in Lincoln sprawls across rolling hills that are covered with mature oak forests. The back nine even closely resembles Germany's Black Forest. The centerpiece of the course is the old granite quarry that was transformed into an expansive lake that comes into play on the third and final holes. The golf course is formidable, testing golfers with blind shots and uneven lies, but the challenges are nicely balanced by long, open fairways. Water comes into play several times throughout as well as the towering trees that blanket the landscape. The course will keep golfers on their toes but there is plenty of visual respite available. Players can often catch a glimpse of the abundant wildlife that call Turkey Creek Golf Club home, including deer, quail, foxes, and of course, wild turkeys.

Be wary of Hot Deals for Turkey Creek
Smoking deal listed on Golf Now, but for every smoking deal, there lies a reason. Last time I booked a "Hot Deal" for TC, they didn't mention the greens were recently punched. This time around I called to speak to somebody regarding the deal... they said the greens were punched 3 months ago so I went ahead and booked. When I arrived at the course, there was a tournament finishing and the course was a mess... tables on the tee boxes on every other hole, pace of play was awful. I wanted to quit on the 15th hole but it was the 15th hole... Call the course before you book a "Hot Deal".
Hot
Layout is great but tough. Was extremely hot that day. Overall great course. Not for beginners.
Slow pace.
The pace of play was horrible. The free by 9 was ok, but the back 9 had 3 groups waiting to tee off. With 4 more holes left to play, we couldn’t stand the line no wait to play, so we left. I thought that there must be some slow group holding every one up, but as we drove back, there were groups waiting in groups all the way back. Did they overbook ? Maybe they should implement a started like Empire Ranch and monitor groups closer.
always good
Have played this course since the day it opened- always lots of fun and full of new adventures!
Excellent
Great course! They were working on the tee boxes the day we played. It made it hard to keep your footing, could not keep shoes clean. One of the best courses in the area.
Scenery !
Course was green and beautiful! Loved the big rocks/boulders and the Turkey's!
Scenery !
Course was green and beautiful! I loved the big rocks/boulders and if course the Turkey's!
Great Start to '81
Course was in excellent shape for early spring. The greens had be aerated; but still putted pretty true. Pace of play was excellent - off the course in just under 4 hours. Great day!
No airification alert
I really like Turkey Creek but I was disappointed to arrive and find out there was no arification alert when I made tee time. Very disappointed. Golf on Friday doesn’t happen often. I probably would have skipped TC had I known greens were still not close to normal.
No warning for poor green conditions
Course was in excellent condition except the greens had been aerated recently. No discount or notice of poor green conditions.
Really fun layout!
I was shocked by this course. Up in Lincoln for a golfing weekend. We played both Lincoln Hills courses, Darkhorse and Turkey Creek. I thought Turkey Creek was going to be a local metro course and something flat and easy.
I was mistaken! Course layout was fantastic. Huge Boulders all over the course make it challenging on certain holes but also provide some awesome scenery.
The course was in excellent condition although the course has recently punched their greens. Green definitely had holes in them from being punched including sand. I will NEVER fault a course for punching their greens. It's just bad timing to play a course after they have punched because they are basically impossible to putt consistently on. I totally understand this is the perfect time to punch the greens!
Staff was extremely friendly and considering we tee'd off at 3 PM on a Saturday afternoon, we had no problems finishing this beautiful course.
Excellent job hosting us for the day Turkey Creek, we will definitely be back!!
Not notified of Greens being punched prior to arrival
Course is very good layout. It’s a good value for your money. Usually has very good green speed. I realize to present a quality product the greens must be punched a couple tomes a year, however, other courses mentioned the green treatment giving you the decision to play or pass. I spefically chose Turkey Creek to prepare for a tournament with fast greens . That wasn’t possible.
Winter conditions
I really enjoy Turkey Crk for its layout and shot making challenges, unfortunately right now the course is in dire condition.
The fairways are beyond in " dormant condition" I would call them bare and dead.
This is winter so maybe some time should be spent to condition the greens.
Maybe now would be a good time to level out the tee boxes( played the blues and there were seriously not one level box) now maybe that is the direction the course superintendent is going, if so he's got it nailed.
We played with a Golf Now discounted rate but their rack rates are in the mid $60 range, and I personally expect better conditions..
Turkey Creek is a wonderful layout but it is definitely in need of some love!
Shouldn't be open!
This was a frustrating experience. The weather was great for February but the course was a mess. Really bad shape. If they're going to stay open during the winter then do more than just take in green fees. I've played this course before and it was fine. Won't go back.
