Always solid
This course really needs a marshal; every time I play here peope are jumping on randomly and no one ever lets faster groups play through. Other than that, I really enjoy this course!
Bad shape
The course is in very bad shape. The water area is filled with sewage and waste. Could be a very nice course, if taken care of.
Good ‘Ol Bixby
Bixby has been a staple for Long Beach area golfers since before I was born. It’s a fun layout with some unique quirks that make it very interesting and demand your attention. I enjoy playing here because it’s a great place to practice different shots, it’s stress-free but still challenging, POP is usually fast, and it’s an excellent value. It’s not as manicured as little rec or the Navy course, but Bixby is always a good time and worth the greens fee

Great early round course was wide open staff was super friendly
Slow play and crowded
Expect a lot of beginners on the course which makes for slow play , also an occasional 5some.
Older Caucasian man behind the counter was rude and curt, the Asian gentleman was gracious and helpful.
Will not recommend this course to other golfers.

I have played this course several times over the past few years. It progressively gets worse & worse. I have never seen this course in worse condition. I'm done with it and will not go back.

Great course!!
Great course for beginners!! The green are well kept and the fairways have grass!! Watch out for the second hole, you’ll know what I mean! Can’t wait to for the next tee off time!!

Getting better
First time I ever played at Bixby was about 4 months ago. Conditions were pretty rough. I have played it about 4 times since then. Each time the course conditions have gotten a little better. You can really see improvement. If you're looking for a prestine course then you shouldn't play here. If you're looking for a short practice round then this would be good.

Course a bit rough
Fun course greens ok rest of course a bit rough ok course for beginners wouldn't recommend for anyone above beginner level

Great for the price!!
Great layout of the course! Makes it easy to walk the 9 holes. They do offer carts, comes in handy if with a group and need to carry a lot of bags. Staff is friendly and informative. Definitely recommend and will return.
9 hole
This course unlike other nine hole courses is not an executive course. Most people in front of us did not know how to play and we’re extremely slow. Greens were the best part of the course Although too much water. Fairways were OK mediocre. Sand traps started out as sand at the beginning and at the end were strictly dirt with weeds in them. Short walkable course with potential for improvement. We played this course for a quick nine holes to practice our short game and it ended up being two hours and nine minutes with slow play in front of us.

Signs of improvement
I wanted to acknowledge some of the improvements this place has made. The grass seemed to be a little more lush than last year. They’ve also removed a tree that made a tee shot on the 7th hole less problematic for the high handicappers on this executive course.
This place has a lot of room for improvement but I wanted to give them credit for their efforts in trying to build this place up.
