Copper Canyon Golf Club - Lake/Mountain Course
About
The course at Copper Canyon Golf Club is deceptively exclusive in that although the club has prestige and a luxurious atmosphere, there are some reasonably priced tee times. The layout features an interesting mix of holes that offer panoramic views of the White Tank Mountains to the south. The large, undulating greens that are framed by generous fairways are the trademark of the course. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are also sand bunkers situated throughout. This golf course offers four sets of teeboxes. Copper Canyon Golf Club has extensive practice facilities for golfers to use as well, including a full length driving range with several target greens, a large practice putting green, and a short game area with a bunker.

Great Desert Course
Extremely windy on day of play but still enjoyed the time
Course was it great shape.
Excellent weather, excellent golf course, nice people to play with only thing missing was my game.
Worth the drive out to Buckeye
A very well-kept course, keeping in Troon fashion. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition, though the greens were running a bit slow. The layout was great and required at least a little bit of planning off the tee rather than simply playing hit-it-and-go-get-it style. Landscaping around the course often features rocky areas, so anything really errant was either unplayable or had club damage potential. Sand was course but playable--not thin in the bottom like I've experience at other desert courses.
My buddy and I were paired with two ladies who were regulars there; they were fun to play with but playing split tees slowed us down a bit. The foursome behind us (all men) were part of the same group as our playing partners and seemed to make a point of playing into our back pockets for most of the back nine (we played in four hours/ten minutes, so the pace wasn't an issue--they were just jerks). Aside from those guys, the round was great and this course is worth playing again. The rates are less than most Scottsdale-area tracks and the quality of course is as good.
POOR GREENS & SAND TRAPS AT COPPER CANYON
TONS OF BALL MARKS ON THE GREENS AND ROCK SOLID HARD SAND TRAPS
DRIVING RANGE ALSO BEAT UP.
Copper Canyon
Great course, mix of fair and challenging holes. Good greens as well. Will play there again.
Worth the drive
Staff very friendly and professional. Course in exceptional shape. We hit from gold tees but found that it would be more challenging from back tees. We plan on returning....great experience, highly recommended!
Magnificent Greens
Not a long course but a good challenge still from the tips. The course was in superb shape and a lot of fun to play. I travel to Phoenix every year and make it a point to play this course.
The greens could not have been in better condition; not too fast but fast enough and the ball rolled perfectly. I played seven different courses on this trip - all were in great shape - but none had greens nearly as nice.
Well kept track
Very well kept course. Not the best deal at $80, but a real nice course no the less
Best practice facilities excellent greens
Practice and warm up on the best facilities.
Then play better and faster than most courses.
Good Layout - Fun course to play.
One of my favorite courses in the west valley. The layout has just the right amount of challenge for my game. I've played the course four times to date at various times of the year and have always found it to be in excellent condition especially the greens which are bent grass. The staff has always been very cordial and helpful. It's a bit of a drive but is well worth the time. A big thumbs up for Copper Canyon!
Relatively plain for a Troon course
Course was in good condition but none of the holes were really beautiful like a typical Troon course...we might go back but most likely not. Houses packed the fairways and the dessert spaces weren't interesting or very well landscaped. It felt like it was set up as a resort course so you couldn't possibly lose your ball. Good for pace of play but bland.
Beautiful Condition
A very pretty course in excellent condition with top notch practice facilities. Fairways are quite wide so this is a good course to work on one's driver. Greens were in top condition but somewhat difficult to putt due to undulations and I believe overseeding with rye or a rye/poa hybrid. My putting stats have been bad ever since the courses over seeded in the fall. Putts just don't seem to break how you think. And everyone knows that Poa is probably the worse surface to putt on. Over seeded rye can be sticky. The dormant grass was a surprise as usually it provides little resistance to the club head but here a couple of chips in the dormant grass around the greens just stopped the club head in its tracks. Definitely will play this course again.
Worth the drive
One of the most enjoyable golf courses to play in the valley area. Greens were in very good condition fast & true. Good test for every level of golfer in our group but will not beat you up if you mishit a shot.Pace of play was steady but we were not pushed, finished in 4 hours. Great practice facility, range & putting green.Really like playing at Copper Canyon. I would highly recommend you play this course.
WELL WORTH THE DRIVE
We played from the tips and at over 6800 yards it was a very good test of golf.A definite challenge with some very long par fours.A good blend of fairways, bunkers and undulating greens. The staff was very friendly and the scenery was great,I was paired with two other guys with single digit handicaps which made for an enjoyable round. The only downside is that it is a pain to get to for anyone living on the east side of Phoenix.Still it is well worth the drive to play this course.I would definitely recommend this couse.
overpriced
I have not played here in about a year, (not 100% sure of the actual date) for the following reasons. For a course very out of the way and just average as far as being "memorable" your costs are WAY out of line. The. course is nice and fun but you are not a country club with exclusive rights. If you want players to come out get your pricing in line and offer some deals. $62 at 2 pm on Golf Now is rediculas. Come on MAN!
Fun to play
beautiful course and love the layout and views, fairways are in excellent shape but the greens were bumpy with many ball marks. overall this course is challenging and fun to play.
Always enjoy this course.
The greens were great. Overall, a very enjoyable round. Played with two locals. they were great. This course is one of my favorites when I visit Arizona, and I have never been disappointed. Plus booking on GolfNow always gets me a good rate.
Good setup and excellent clubhouse
Slow round, but was a two ball behind a four ball. Nice course, with good speed on the greens. Medium handicappers.
The greens are TifEagle, not Bent Grass. Same grass as Golf Club of Estrella.
