About
Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

Hilly & Beautful
Hilly & beautiful, with lots of wildlife and different mix of holes.
Unique Experience
Loved the elevation drops. Greens were in excellent condition. This course has some holes welcoming enough for beginners and other holes that will frustrate the most experienced players. Enjoyed the course variety, the views, and the 675 Par-6 18th hole.
Poor Customer Service
I booked through Golf Now but the first attendant told my golf partners that there was no record of my tee time our purchase and try to charge him 63.00 dollars. Lucky for me I brought my print out with me.
Once I presented it I was suddenly found in the system.
Walked off course
After 2:45 minutes only thru 13 holes we left the Course.We waited on every shot.No water on course!We will not be back!The food was good at the clubhouse.First time ever we quit.
Same old Chabot
Chabot is a links style course with lots of hills. Uphill and downhill lies abound. The cart paths are in disrepair but greens and fairways were good.
Natural terrain course

Interesting wooded eucalyptus style course.... having deer run around.... overall condition is good ...but five fairways are hard and dried out..... those actually give you the advantage of a long roll in it ....I give the course at eight out of 10 ....nice cool weather made it very enjoyable
Boogie Man!
Challenging course. Nice greens. Needs more water on the fairways and better seeding. Lot's of bad spots you roll into. Worth tbe $ 16-25.
Cart died, but still had a good time
My cart died on hole #2, but I was able to get a replacement. Pace of play was really slow the front 9 but the slow golfers left and the back 9 was much quicker
Improving Conditions
They have mowed the course recently so the fairways and rough are playing a little faster. We also felt the greens are in better shape and not as bumpy. There are still broken ball washers here and there and distance markers missing on many holes. However the course is still a pretty good value. And we love it when Carlotta’s cafe is open to serve good burgers and drinks..
Great fun.
Challenging course with all the elevation throughout. Just keep it in the fairway and you can score, but any slice and you will bogey if lucky.
Course has several fun holes
Hit the wide fairways and you'll score well. I love playing the numbers 5, 6, 9, 10, 15 and 18 holes.
Total round
Course was in the best shape I’ve ever seen it in. Have played Chabot since 1972 off and on. A great deal for the price.
Not for beginners.
A hard course for beginners like me.
Too many places to lose a ball.
