Lake Chabot Golf Course - Executive Par 3 Course
About
Lake Chabot Golf Course overlooks Oakland and the Bay Bridge from its lush rolling hills. There are two courses available, one full-length championship layout and a nine-hole, par-3 course. The longer golf course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. It is known for having one of area's most memorable finishing holes, a par 6 that stretches to 673 yards from the back tees. Lake Chabot's short course provides the same risk-reward style of the original course but on a smaller scale. This par-3 course is also not as difficult, making it a great option for juniors and families, and it is also the perfect spot for beginners to get in some good practice. The views on the Lake Chabot short course are just as stunning as on the long course.

Didn’t play due to weather conditions, tried to cancel, course said I was not on their list to play today still got charged $24 as if I played. Disappointed on this app.
Enjoyable
We enjoyed a beautiful day. The course is also a frisbee golf course. We almost got hit three times by frisbees. The Frisbee player seemed to think it was OK to play the hole at the same time we were, which seemed odd. We let him get ahead of us. We waiting on pretty much every hole to tee off. Perhaps just a busy Sunday. Some of the holes had very steep, almost dangerous areas to walk.
9 holes
Not very good condition, understood it’s a par 27 but even the T boxes were not well kept, greens are so- so condition with lots of bald spots/ dead grass, nobody was playing at 7 am and pace was good
Small course for a beginner
Took my 12-year-old son for the first time and he really enjoyed it. It’s all par threes and only walking. It was a great father and son day
Poor Playing Conditions
The conditions of this course are bad. The first holes has a few branches that make it almost unplayable. The fairways are dead and grass is all dried up. The greens are all choppy and some of the greens are patchy. You end up having to hit off some mats since the tee boxes are practically non existent. Bunch of sand in the tee box. The walking path is non existent as well. Definitely needed especially since you are going up and downhill. The 4th hole is kinda dangerous, it’s a gravel path down a steep decline. I almost fell trying to walk down. I guess for the 12$ you are paying it might be worth it for you.
Going downhill
Used to be fun and at least playable conditions. Now they have let greens go to pot, not just patchy but also very lumpy. Tee boxes are hard sand. Not even worth $10 anymore. Time to take the kids to Los Positas par 3 or Alameda par 3.
Needs Some Help
Not as nice as the 18-hole course which isn't in that brilliant of shape to begin with.
Some greens were good, others were very patchy and weird. Rough was pretty dense/unforgiving and some had clovers growing in them. Worst of all were the teeboxes, or should I say, Sandboxes. I just look for and bit of grass within a 20 yard radius of the teebox and hit from there. And on some holes there are tree branches hanging directly over where you want to hit the ball, which was annoying. I only like playing here once a year for $5
