Originally designed by Chandler Egan in 1932, the first nince holes takes you through the forested areas of Pacific Grove. Egan's nine takes you through an inland terrain and reflects much of the charm of an English rural course done in the old style.

The back nine was designed by Jack Neville, the original designer of the Pebble Beach Links. It opened in 1960, and is laid out in true links design over dunesland that approaches the sea.

Over looking the course is the Point Pinos Lighthouse. Built in 1855, it is the longest continuously operating lighthouse in California. It is a historical sentinel and picturesque landmark of the golf course.

A scenic tour of the dramatic coastline provides views of Lover's Point, Point Pinos, Crespi Pond and the natural dunesland at Asilomar. You will be enchanted by the abundance of natural wonders such as the plentiful Pacific Blacktail Deer, seals, sea lions, sea otters, pelicans and gulls.

Not bad but have played far better for $69

Not very private, surrounded by houses, lots of wildlife accustomed to humans on all fairways and a lawn mower that seemed to follow us on all holes. Nice views but nothing jaw dropping. If it’s the best rate take it but I don’t see myself returning to this course.

Fun course to walk, great municipal value. Early morning marine layer was bad especially on front 9, so bring some colored balls

Back 9!!!!

The front line is nothing particularly special. Basically a warm-up for the back nine-which is like a completely different course. You can imagine you’re playing Pebble Beach a big elevation changes lots of dramatic scenery.

Poor Man’s Pebble Beach

They don’t call this ‘Poor man’s Pebble Beach’ for nothing - the views are fantastic. The setting is enhanced by the lighthouse and the resident deer. It is always a pleasure to play there.

The pro shop is setup nicely and staffed by good people. The restaurant and refreshment area are also very nice.

Short But Fun

This is a gem.of a.coirse. Although a bit short.- 5700 from the blues- it is a.good challenge of golf. And the views of the Pacific from the back 9 are fantastic. Its bot Pebble Beach, but at 10% the cost, it's truly a great golf bargain.

Slice

Front 9 is ordinary. Back 9 is out of this world. I don’t recommend a slice especially on the back.

Awesome! Lived up to expectations!

This is a great course! Front 9 completely different than back 9. Greens are tricky. Fairways in amazing condition. Views that make your eyes hurt. We had a blast! Pace of play was excellent. Bunkers could use a little work. Brakes on carts needed replacing. Otherwise, pretty perfect.

One time

It was USOpen week so the price gouging was on in the area. The course is a mini but conditions were fine in the fairway and around greens. The greens were smooth and not real speedy but adequate. It’s a one and done at the gouge prices but for the regular price it would be ok to play it again.

Good walk spoiled - Not!

Don't come here if you don't like beautiful views as you approach each tee and when you're looking for your lost ball. You won't be able to escape them, and you'll be really upset you came.
