Summitpointe Golf Course

I have not played Summitpointe GC since last year and the course is in poor to bad condition. The tee boxes and fairways had very little grass. The greens have diseased areas and plenty of ball marks. That is one thing that really bothered me was that players were not fixing ball marks on the greens or raking bunkers. The players need to do more to help maintain the course.

I used to play here semi regularly many years ago and it was in decent shape. It was frustratingly hard to enjoy with sloping fairways you could rarely stay on with anything but a perfect tee shot. Now it is in embarrassing shape with actual green grass few and far between. Tee boxes are miserable. Only redemption for this round was playing early on a weekday to get out of there in 4 hours vs. the 5 it sometimes can take.

Summit is the kind of place you play on the weekends when you wanna save a buck and play quick. Early morning weekend rounds can be done is less than 3 hours with a cart so to be able to get 18 in for the price and time is more than worth it. Conditions could be improved but it’s cheap so you gotta figure it’s not Augusta.

There are a lot of courses in the Bay Area, and most in better shape. Summitpointe now has signs just about everywhere barring carts from the fairways. Why? Because they are trying to protect what little grass remains, since the place hasn't been watered since who-knows-when. Doesn't benefit you any to hit the fairway when your second shot is a tight, dry, hard lie in most places. Almost had to pound my tee in with the ball at a number of tee boxes. Seems there's lots of water to turn the bunkers into heavy sludge, though. Summit Pointe seems to lack simple upkeep, and especially water. I'll check back next year and see if things have improved, but I'll spend my money elsewhere for now.

Summitpointe is a fun course with some interesting holes, BUT - there is a LOT of hard pan. Coupled with some severely tilted "fairways", there are several holes where it is impossible for a ball to end up in the fairway.

We did get around the course quickly for a weekend morning.

They had "Cart Path ONLY" signs all over the place, but most of the fair ways were very dried out. not maintained at all.

I used to love this course, but not this time.

This course is not for beginners, as you can see by the slope ratings for each tee, but is a good place to use just about all the clubs in your bag. The downside at this time of the year is it is very dry and a lot of the fairways are sloped which makes it difficult to keep your tee shots to stay in the fairways. Still enjoyable and a great bargain, considering the rates at other nearby courses!

Course is good but having so many areas where you can't drive a cart was disappointing.

This course is not for walk in the park player, but it does have some nice views of the bay. Just about every green is sloped so after a few times playing the course you'll have a better approach plan. Bring extra balls you'll have a few opportunities to go out of bounds or land in the rough; forgot to mention many of the fairways are sloped. This course is a challenging , but I shall return, I'm a low 90's high 80's player and have yet to break 100 on this course!

I had an early morning tee time reserved. Showed up 15 minutes early and found a line of seven other people waiting. Apparently no one had opened the pro shop and everyone there had tee times before me. Needless to say when they finally opened, I was told there were now three groups teeing off ahead of me and they’d call my name when they were ready. I cancelled and left, not coming back

Played this course last year and now returns after 12 months. Always a good challenge with strong layout to have you think about each shot.

Course layout was very neat. Pretty views from tee boxes. The slant in some of the fairways made it tough but the greens were the killer. Way too hard and fast. Nothing stuck and anything hit past the hole just roles off the green

The guy working the shop was at the range hitting balls when I went to check in.

And worst part of all got stuck behind two different foursomes on both front and back 9. Was a single golfer and had to wait about 10 minutes every hole for the group in front to finish.

Shame because the course is awesome and has a lot to offer. But the greens as well as the pace we’re just hard to get by.

Spent alot of time looking for balls, toigh to hit fairways because of slopes. Greens had aeration bumps in them. Drying out already.

Restroom needs to be more cleaning. Smell is terrible.

Good value and had fun despite greens having been punched 2 weeks earlier. If the course did not post that fact on the website (we didn't check), they should have.

Greens are punched and Golf Now doesn't mentioned about that. Even though we had lots of rain lately, some greens had brown patches.

Weeds growing in the fairways and a lot of tee boxes. Off the fairways, grass was tall and not cut.

I used to like this course a lot but will not go there again.

The fairways were a bit rough but nothing that caused problems. The Rough was not consistent but it definitely was not where you wanted to be. Long grass, mud, sandy spots, and it wasn’t consistent in the translation from fairway to rough.

The greens were absolute crap. They had been worked on and had dimples, holes, and more sand than some of the sand traps on them. The ball would bounce all over with little control of direction or speed. It made putting almost a worthless excersice.

Good parts, fairways were never level, lots of shots with ball above and below your feet. Lots of elevation changes and blind shots. Nice help at the course, starter was engaged and knew the pace of play before us and what was after us.

I would pay more to have nicer course with better greens in the future but if I was asked to play here I would without complaint.
