Could be better
The course is in very poor conditions but they kind of make up for it by lowering the price....I've paid $35+ for this course when it was green and nice....with the course being in such bad condition the last thing you want to do is then put ALL pin locations in tough spots. I will be taking this course out of my rotation for a good amount of time until they can figure it out. Bummer :/
Challenging course
Lots of hills and inclines make this challenging. Greens are unforgiving. If you like a challenge this a good course.
What a mess
Sprinklers were running in the fairways of two holes. Our carts got wet and so did we.
Cow pasture
Golf sucked but what was worse is the fact that when i got there they had no reservation for me. I then realized that i got a email while in route to the golf course from you informing me that my tee time had been moved up,due to the distance we traveled we were already on the road and would not be there on time to make your new tee time. We got a new tee time much later which allowed us to wait around for no good reason other than the fact that you screwed up.Thanks Golflater and you charged me $4.98 for all the fun we had. Not sure I'll be back
Need to water the fairway
Fairway has many dry spots and no grass. Large leak flowing like a river on hole 2.
Course condition and pace
Overall course conditions were not what they used to be when I was playing more often several years ago. Few tee boxes were mixed between grass and dirt. For a few areas on holes #6 and #8, grass were long. Several fairways had brown spots. Fairway on #1 was very wet. Greens were in excellent condition. For a late morning tee time on a weekend day, the pace was excellent, 4.5 hours.
average
the other comments are on point. they have tried to waster up the course but there are still improvements to be made.
Needs work
Greens were the best thing about this course. Some construction in various fairways. Lots of rough and some holes seemed to double back on one another. Relatively inexpensive though with cart included. Good enough for a couple of not-so-great golfers. Great views and birdwatching included.
Cart delay and driving range is broken
We'll have you ever arrived an hour early for a tee time to warm up but the driving range was broken? That's exactly what happened to us on Saturday. After an hour of practice swings and putting we went to pick up our cart. We were told several times there was no delay on the course. Well our 11:30 tee time was pushed back to 12:10 because of a delay in available carts.
Luckily the grass was still on the course.
Summit Pointe
I like Summit a lot, a nice challenge and the grass is growing from just a few weeks ago. I think they need to keep this up. My only issue is we could not drive on the fairways for the front 9 and that makes this a pain. They should at least advertise or tell you this.
Greenskeeper needs to step up
The pace of play was awful. Took 5 hours for 18. The main reason was that the first 9 holes kept the cart on the path, then in the back 9 only a few holes would allow cart. This slowed pace dramatically. We found ourselves waiting at nearly every hole.
The tee boxes were awful for most of the holes. No reason for them to be this bad.
They overwatered the course and everything was a sloppy mess... Walking the fairway at several points I found myself nearly ankle deep in mud/water.
Add to this that you can't warm up if you have a tee time near 9AM... The driving range doesn't open till 9AM :-(
I won't play this course again, until they can get it under control. It was a mess.
Don't do it
The course has never been well maintained. The fairways have now become rock hard dirt. I'm sure someone will argue something about a recent water main but it was terrible long before that. The thing is if the course was cared for like some of the more elite courses in the area it would be great. It's a difficult course to begin with and the overgrowth and everything else makes it a place not worth visiting.
Has potential but bad conditions
I've played here twice and both times the greens have been in atrocious conditions. Bunkers have water and wet sand in them, parts of the fairway are mostly dirt, and there is just a lack of overall attention on to maintenance on this course. Not worth the money or time to play here. Honestly adds a stroke or two to your regular game just because of how bad it is.
Playing on concrete!
The fairways haven't been watered for awhile, Golf Now did not mention this, and yet regular rates were charged. I've played this course when the motto was "brown is the new green" due to the drought, but the course still played fair. If you play with these conditions, you might as well go to Golfland down the road! When trying to go uphill on the difficult 8th hole, I saw my ball roll....and roll...and roll down the hill because I happened to catch a tree branch. Full rates on Golfland conditions? Get your act together Summitpointe!
This course lost access to water because of a main pipe breaking. Therefore, at the moment, the fairways are in terrible shape. The greens are still in decent shape because they were able to water it utilizing their ponds. It will take several months for this course to recover.
The course was ok it's getting better from last time I played because thy started to water the fairways again. I would give it another week or two to let the turf grass grow in a bit more.
