S-L-O-W
It's possible we picked a bad day, but the course was extremely crowded and yet we felt rushed. We were a twosome with a slow foursome in front and the group behind was pushing us hard - why?
The course is in decent shape but is quite narrow with fairways right next to one another which makes it feel cramped.
Not my favorite day of golf.
The staff was rude ! Driving range was closed tee time I played was 3pm went there one time to play a 18 the range was closed until 11am smh asked one of the staff members there he was bothered and aggressively told me they are closed until 11am ! I was so thrown back I ask for a GM and he did the same thing
I guess they get that question asked a lot? Cuz they were SUPPER RUDE! Price is good but the service makes me want to play else where
Sunday Funday
The course was that playing pretty well there's a little soggy because you know the the rain and we need it here in Northern California I'm the course of the green and you know it hasn't been green for a while and I noticed that this bunkers as well we're a fresh fresh send it weren't compact was loose and one thing I notice about the course as well that a lot of people playing it more so that was a good thing
I do have one issue I've been playing there for quite some time over past 5 years and I know that they close early at the bar so usually I pack a lunch. I did pack my own lunch this time and I went to the bar and I know they're going to close shortly and I asked the bartender is it possible that he could warm up my food and he told me no and he gave me a reason being for food is violation of health code reason and so I said okay and he said but I can warm you up some hot links or sandwiches and I said but you're not a cook so the point of making here is that he could have easily microwave my food there just to tamales but he did not so I did not want to get into a band or so I just moved on but I did come back when I played my other Back Nine..
Greens are fast even right after all the rain
Was a bit nippy but sunny,it had just rained hard for 3 days and yet it was in great condition still.Sure there was a couple spots with a little water but for the most part it was in really good shape and the greens ran true and fast.Summitpointe is back!
Has come along way since I played here 3 years ago
This was one of our go to courses for a challenge until a couple years ago this course was terrible, bare spots everywhere,no sand in bunkers, infected greens and pace of play was almost always 5 1/2 -6 hrs.Well I am glad to say they have put some time and money back into this course and its about as good as it ever was that I played.Bunkers have fresh sand in most, you can see were they have staked off areas and laid new sod, barely any bare areas and best of all my Friday round was just over 4 hrs.And best of all are the greens....PGA fast almost,I see a lot of the reviews complaining about this which baffles me,if you want less of a challenge with slow greens go to a flat muni course and stop your whinning,me and my partner loved them!
A week end runs of golf
Summitpointe GC offers very nice views on SF bay area and San Jose but this probably is the only thing positive I can say about this GC. Systematically overcrowded (I once played behind a 8 sum!!) I usually takes a minimum of 5h to do the round. Greens are ridiculously difficult with slopes that will send your ball far away from the hole even when you have a good stroke. Fairways are narrow and too close to each other. It is not uncommon to have your ball played from someone coming from another hole even when you hit the fairway. Will probably avoid this GC at all cost especially on week ends.
Tough Greens
Disappointed that bunkers were under construction. Several greens were ridiculous. Too fast and too much slope. Played with decent players and had four putts for the entire group on 3 holes.
Nice surprise
Hadn't played the course in a long time and enjoyed it more than I remembered. Course was in good shape and the greens were good.
good value, challenge to most !
Slope rating surprisingly high, but accurate when considering green difficulties and uneven fairway lies...all in all it’s always a great challenge and has some really nice views from many holes.
Golfing with friends
The course was in great shape and pars were achievable if one was not to greedy.
Course need attention
The course is in bad condition. It really needs some work. Evening you Landon the Fairway you will find yourself hitting from dry hard surfaces.
Challenging greens!
The greens are chalenging. But, be careful, some fairways are too close to each other. You may see balls flying towards you.
Pace of play too slow
Pace of play too slow, need marshalls to hurry people up.
Area around 2nd green has been under construction since last yeat.
Greenside bunkers are compact and like tight lies
$14 with a cart is a great deal
Downhill in to the mud!
This course has become an absolute sham. I used to play here regularly, but over the last couple of years this course has been rapidly going downhill, last it is now the worst you will ever experience. Just terribly maintained in all respects. Even the tee boxes!
What really disappoints, is that I called the pro shop to get an update on the condition before booking our foursome. We had stopped playing there for over 6 months due to the bad condition. But gave them the benefit of the doubt. The staff in the shop told me the course is back to good shape and the bad conditions from over 6 months ago was all mostly fixed. Wetll he lied.
Not a good sign when the pro shop cannot even be honest to their guests.
