Timber Creek Golf Course - Lakes/Oaks

Most courses in the Sacramento area get a little choppy this time of year (hence the need for Winter Rules). Fairways/Rough at Timber were no exception. The greens, however, were in excellent shape and quite fast. My only complaint was with the pin placements. Maybe the greenskeeper had a bad night, but many of the pins were placed on top of humps or right next to ledges making putting a real test.

Was with a buddy of mine and we were playing our first round here, early morning and we were constantly getting hit onto by the group behind us, ended up finishing in under 4 hours yet the Marshall never said anything to the people literally almost hitting us with their shot and not waiting at all, we were not slow whatsoever and the pro shop told us “members think they own the place what are we supposed to do” won’t be coming back.

As for the Roseville courses we’ve played ,6 so far, this was the best layout for or level of golf. It supposed to be fun, right? We will definitely be back!

Way too windy to get a fair assessment. Seems like half the holes were dead into the wind. But what I did love is the speed of the fairways. I drove an average of 270 because of the friendly roll. However, the hardness of the greens did make it hard to get balls to stop.

Overall great day. Beautiful scenery nice course layout and we kept moving and not waiting for play. Course was in great shape, fairways well maintained, traps well kept. The greens were hard so keeping you ball on the green could be a challenge but it made it fun. Highly recommend to play

Just second time playing this course and once again the pace was excellent. Finished the round in about four hours. Front nine is open with quite a bit of water but most of the time doesn’t come into play unless you butcher a shot. Second nine is a little bit longer with lots of trees - still fairly open except for a few holes with narrow fairways. Nice contrast. Course is in very good condition and a moderately tough track but fair. The greens were biggest challenge - hard and fast; don’t mind this for putting but some of my approach shots simply would not stick even though they were hit very nicely. Definitely need to play one club less than typical for approach shots to account for rollout. Staff is very friendly and has good practice facility. Definitely recommend this course.

The staff was friendly, and the course was in nice condition considering winter play. The greens weren't overly hard, and your iron shots will stick with ease!

Was annoyed today that the marshal was pressing my foursome to speed up when we were placed as the lead group in a frost delay shotgun start. We had to start on hole 7 and finished 9 holes in just over 2 hours. Have played this course many times, and today we payed $75 each to be pressured into playing faster than a 4 1/2 hour round. Didn’t play well

Glad I was finally able to play Timber Creek. Very nice and well maintained course. First nine open with lots of water 2nd nine was tighter fairways with more trees. A nice contrast. Moderately easy but enough trouble that it's not a cakewalk. Pace of play was better than expected;; finished in about 4 hours and 15 minutes.

The pace of play was good until Hole 14. It was getting dark and the foursome ahead of us took 25 minutes on par 3 Hole 16. We asked them to pick up the pace as we were backed up by two groups. A string of vulgarities came out and continued through hole 17. Very disappointing and a bit scary.. The course needs to be monitored more often especially later in the day.
