Good Day.
The only complaint I have about this course is the sand. Courses need to maintain their bunkers or get rid of them! Overall good day of golf unless you hit it into the sand less bunkers!
Always Awesome
Great golfer friendly layout and always in excellent condition. Typical weekday round is less than 4 hourweekends about 4 to 4.5 hours.
Fun even for an amateur!
Visited on a Saturday. No back up, very peaceful play. Course in fantastic shape and staff was just as great. The holes are fun, challenging, but not difficult. Runs around a very well kept neighborhood and all facilities including restrooms were CLEAN. Cold water offered at numerous holes was a huge plus! :)
Great Pace, course in great shape, but tough greens
Little pricey for a 4pm tee time knowing we couldn’t get 18 in, but reasonable. Pace of play was great and allowed us to get to 17 in the dark then the sprinklers went off and couldn’t finish. But overall course was in great shape tee to green. 5 birdie putts inside of 10ft and I’m not a long hitter, unfortunately didn’t make any of them, but that’s on me. No brown dead grass patches is always nice compared to other courses in the area, soft sand in bunkers. Will definitely play again and again.
Timber Creek
I really enjoy playing Timber Creek! The course was in great condition and able to finish our round in 3:45.
While the course certainly has its challenges overall it's very intermediate skill friendly. This is one of my favorite courses in the area.
It started chilly
But ended warm and sunny! I paid $50 to walk the course- it was flat and easy to do so. The group I played with were very friendly and polite. The fairways were in great shape for the winter, a little fast. The greens were fast and in good condition.
Bathrooms were available on course accessible by several holes.
Bring your own tees, water, towels and snacks. Saw the drink cart once.
I would recommend for price and for the great layout of the wholes.
Great course, worth the money.
Staff were friendly, check in was a breeze. The course was in great condition.. this is now one my favorite courses…the other is Morgan Creek GC.
Good for this time of year
Most courses in the Sacramento area get a little choppy this time of year (hence the need for Winter Rules). Fairways/Rough at Timber were no exception. The greens, however, were in excellent shape and quite fast. My only complaint was with the pin placements. Maybe the greenskeeper had a bad night, but many of the pins were placed on top of humps or right next to ledges making putting a real test.
Rude staff
Was with a buddy of mine and we were playing our first round here, early morning and we were constantly getting hit onto by the group behind us, ended up finishing in under 4 hours yet the Marshall never said anything to the people literally almost hitting us with their shot and not waiting at all, we were not slow whatsoever and the pro shop told us “members think they own the place what are we supposed to do” won’t be coming back.
A fun forgiving layout.
As for the Roseville courses we’ve played ,6 so far, this was the best layout for or level of golf. It supposed to be fun, right? We will definitely be back!
Wind
Way too windy to get a fair assessment. Seems like half the holes were dead into the wind. But what I did love is the speed of the fairways. I drove an average of 270 because of the friendly roll. However, the hardness of the greens did make it hard to get balls to stop.
