Timber Creek Golf Course - Lakes/Oaks

This is probably the best course in the area. I try and play this course at least once a month as I like to play different courses. I got a great deal on Golfnow, 18 holes and a cart for $25. This course has a little of everything, water, forced carries and lots of traps. The traps have sand, greens were in great shape (just wish that players would fix their divots) and the fairways were in great shape with lots of run to them. Great practice facilities and the restaurant and bar are excellent. The pace of play was a little slow today but not that bad. I think we finished just at dark in a little over 4-1/2 hours. I totally recommend this course.

I enjoy this course. Wish management would do something about the pace of play. We finished almost in the dark. Had a foursome in front playing from blue tees, that couldn't hit their drives over 150 yards.

The course is in excellent condition.....perfecet greens where the ball rolls true. One of the best courses in the area!

I played here on 2 previous occasions having just started playing golf...maybe 40-50 handicap. On this recent occasion, some 300 rounds later, I now realize the gem quality. I found an outstanding practice facility with a large putting green, grass box driving range, chipping/bunker area with complimentary practice balls and well represented greens, traps and roughs with which to practice. The carts we're all obviously wiped clean looking new. The pro shop was well organized. It took me 30 seconds to check in. The restaurant wasn't just a bar & grill, you felt like you dined out. People were wearing their sweaters around their neck so you would expect a stuck up atmosphere but it never came to fruition. Everything was warm and welcoming. Oh yeah, the layout was sweet! The hazards we're fair in great condition. The fairways, sand traps and greens are primo. I was so glad I played with a knowledgeable friend. There are hidden hazards and layup holes that would kill a new guy. I remember at least one on area restroom and water spouts we're periodic. A ball brush in good condition on every hole. I'm playing again next Saturday and hopefully again and again. This well managed club is a fine tribute to the north valley area. Maybe I stayed with the game of golf because I remember the experience from the beginning! Was the first time the best?

Why won't starters be honest about punching greens? I called the course before I made a tee time to inquire as to whether they'd punched greens recently. The starter told me it had been a month, but they were completely healed. NOT so, bumpy putts all day. No more believing starters...

Timber Creek is Sacramento's crown jewel; it is so well groomed it's like playing a country club. I believe it's the finest practice facility in the Sacramento area with two greenside bunker's and a separate chipping green and putting green. It's rare when you have to hit off mats on the driving range, and hitting off of grass gives you a true feel for the game and what you need to work on.

Loved playing the course first time here. The course is tree lined with mature oaks and water hazards that come into play for long hitters. Lots of blind water and trees around the corner if you did not see them coming. Great selection of holes, short par 3, and 2 unique par 5's that need to be played as 3 shot holes. Greens were good, but course was better. Very satisfied after waiting a few years to try the track. Its busy before noon, so a later tee time in the summer is what the doctor ordered.

Course is well maintained....tee to green. Fun course to play. Nice practice area as well. Highly recommend.

I thought that playing in the heat of the day would be a faster pace of play. It wasn't that there were a lot of people playing, but there was a 4some two groups ahead that must have been playing for "big bucks" as they were all very deliberate over every shot and had to view putts from all angles. I didn't see anyone ahead of them, but they didn't offer to let anyone play through.

My guess is that they are members, and felt they were entitled. Of course, in the PM there is no "marshal" as there aren't many on the course.

Greens especially for a public heavily played course EXCELLENT!

Friendly staff, great condition. Fun course, but no one to move the slow play along.

I will certainly play here again.
