About
The Club at Crazy Horse Ranch (previously known as Salinas Golf & Country Club) in Monterey boasts a reputation as "the friendliest club in the area." Opened in 1925, it's also known as one of the area's oldest clubs though they are loathe to label themselves as "traditional". The golf course sprawls across rolling countryside dotted with mature trees and the occasional water hazard. Originally opened as a nine-hole layout, the golf course may appear somewhat short at just over 6,200 yards from the back tees but don't underestimate its level of difficulty. It's a tight layout that demands accuracy, especially when navigating the small greens. There is plenty of variety at The Club at Crazy Horse Ranch, you may even find yourself using all the clubs in your bag. The golf course finishes with a stunning view of Salinas Valley from an elevated tee. The fairway slopes downhill to a well protected green guarded on the left with trees and on the right with bunkers.

So disappointing
My wife & I had to go to her jeweler, in Aptos, Ca. My bright idea was to play somewhere new & different than our usual Monterey golf courses. Found Crazy Horse GC on golf now for $100/player. They had no electricity/power for clubhouse, bar or restaurant. Front nine was fantastic, everything was going smoothly until hole 10. 10-12 were closed with just a sign on a golf cart telling us to proceed to hole 13. No explanation or warning when we checked in. Ruined a promising round of golf.
Beautifully maintained
Got a hot deal for this spot but I could see myself paying the normal price for the condition of the course. No one was really on the course so pace of play was great. Happy with my experience.
Crazy Horse crazy Good
This is one of my favorite courses. Never too windy or too crowded. Currently, the greens and fairways are in the best shape. I’ve seen them in a long time. Thoroughly enjoyed our around here.
Green way beyond the greens
Very well maintained course, green beyond the tee boxes, fairways and greens. A pleasure to move around with nice views all the way to Big Sur mountains. Course not too challenging yet interesting terrains. Rather hard to lose a ball. The restaurant with white table cloth facing the 18th hole is often busy, so probably worth a try. Cart is included, most players ride.

Love crazy horse. Been awhile since I played here. Course was in great condition. Can’t wait to go back.
Excellent experience
Course was in fabulous condition. Had a slow group ahead of us on the first nine but they let us play through and it was great after that. Challenging course. Love it
rolling hills
I like this course. Every hole is either up, or down. Very playable, but you need a cart. Fairways are wide, not much OB. The tee boxes are close to several greens, so yell "four" if you have hooked your approach shot.
