This course has the potential to be great. Beautiful location, good layout. It just was not in very good condition. Grass was spotty and full of little white flowers. Sand traps were more like hard packed dirt. It was average, but could easily be a 4 or 5 with some TLC.

Love the course layout and design. The greens were a little beat up and patchy but over all in fair shape.

Staff was very friendly

Grass is in rough shape and some tee boxes were in nothing more than mud or weeds or sand. A local said the course is up for sale so not much is being done to keep it up. The layout of the course is amazing and is extremely challenging. With some better upkeep I would give this course a 5 star rating.

The staff were great, the fairways were in good condition and the greens were in a great condition.

The course has improved so much since Troon took it over.

A very enjoyable 4 hours!

Greens were lackluster with heavy spike marks everywhere. Heavy amount of fresh divots in the fairway gave further evidence of course being overplayed. White daisy like weeds flowering in fairways. Place is quite classy otherwise so was disappointing.

Good experience overall. Really liked the place and will give it another go one day.

This was my first time playing this course. It was a beautiful day, temperature in the mid-60's with little to no breeze, an ideal day for gold! My friend and I (beginners) were paired with two other golfers ( experts, one with over 50 years of experience!) and we all got along great! They were helpful and patience with our pace and ability! The course was enjoyable (although a little muddy from the recent rains) but Il definitely plan to return! I would definitely recommend for all levels!

Overall a really good course. Holes are are kept up. The course can be difficult for mid to high handicappers. You will lose a lot of balls to bushes.

The only downside is that the driving range to warm up is not a traditional range. Small and on a hill.

Greens very nice and fast. Fairways good. Tee boxes beat up and need attention. Staff very friendly. I’ll be back.

Beautiful course, friendly staff and the best course in the area!

It's January in the North Bay. The place is a little down at the heels, but show me a public course that isn't torn up right now and I'll play it. (1) Way too many unfilled divots--put divot mix in the carts (several other public and private courses do this). Several tees were sanded to the point where there was zero grass; move the tee markers to where there's turf or use another tee box. However the greens were fair, plus we enjoyed the challenge of reading them. I could play the ball down a good deal of the time. This course has "good bones". Our round took > five hours but I didn't really notice because the course is well designed. Higher handicappers are in for an butt-kicking though.

I have played Hiddenbrooke about 6 times and after each round, I wonder why I do not play it more often. The layout is challenging, the greens are hard, true and quick, the people are very nice and accommodating. I definitely recommend if you want a challenge and I will be back after I work more on my short game.

The tee boxes are still trashed. They’re so chewed up and uneven it is frustrating.

The fairways are in pretty good shape, but it gets so wet in certain areas that you sink in if you stand there.

The greens are in really good shape, minus the fools who never replace a divot.

I like playing here because it is challenging and I can always find a tee time. However, for $90 I can play Poppy Ridge on the weekends. I know they’ve been super busy which is why they’ve upped their rates, but for $90 the whole course should be in great condition and this isn’t.
