Hiddenbrooke Golf Club

I understand the popularity of golf has increased through the pandemic, but 4 hours through 12 holes is horrendous. We watched a group 2 holes ahead of us look for their balls (all 4 golfers) for 15 minutes on a par 3 while the group behind was waiting on the tee box. Course was overall in good shape other than a good portion of back nine where large weeds were widespread throughout the intermittent rough. Tough to justify $84 twilight tee time with OK conditions and marshalls not doing their job. Won't be back until pace of play is somehow addressed.

The Troon Team at Hiddenbrooke are doing a fantastic job of getting Hiddenbrooke back into the condition it was before it hit on hard times.

The fairways and greens are in great condition and the tee boxes are looking decent / best that they’ve been in a while).

Bunkers s could do with some sand but they’re not unplayable.

The Troon staff are awesome, across the board.

Course in great condition but tee boxes need a lot of work.

Five and a half hours and, though Mr. Reiddell came out and tried to push, nothing really improved. Have never seen similar stupid behavior — people wandering back looking for lost items, waiting for groups ahead to get out 300 yards and then hitting 150-yard tee shots, slow walking and other maddening behavior. My favorite course — been playing it since before they started building houses.

I have seriously played every course in the greater bay area. This would be a top 5 for sure. Simply beautiful!!

Great layout and facility but greens had been recently aerated. That wasn’t too bad. However the tee boxes are in truly atrocious shape. They really need to put some work into them.

Everything was the usual. We love playing here because of the challenge (from the tips) and the natural beauty and peaceful surroundings. This day was no different except for the fact we had to play the front nine twice (as they were punching the back greens at the time.).

This is my new top 3 favorite. Poppy Ridge, Calippe and Hiddenbrook! So beautiful and serene, with a great layout. Greens are all aerated right now and it was still awesome.

Pretty views with a pretty fun layout. However, be ready for a very very long round.... The group in front of use was over a hole and half behind and we waited on every single hole and every shot. We called the pro shop and they assured they would send someone out to address the issue but after two guarantees they never sent someone out and the round end up being close to 5 hours (with a cart and not 90 degree rule). Until the shop starts managing their promises, I would avoid the course.

Fortunate that I live close and love the layout, and know when to expect good course conditions. Always have a course record in mind out here and hit it well—putted lights out is why I keep coming back.

It’s a jungle out here if you don’t hit it well.

Yesterday., the group ahead left behind a 7 iron which we found

. Then later a 8 iron which we found and also gave back to them as they drove back from the jungle.

Then a $300 range finder. They drove backwards for that too— would have been great had they moved faster given that. Amazed that they had that little clue out there. They certainly slowed it down...

We played on the last day of non aeration zzz. Greens were so so anyway, as last year At this time before aeration they were prime. We are in a drought however soft the course may seem.

So, 5 Star course worth 25 tops right now. In a few months expect a premium.

This course has the potential to be great. Beautiful location, good layout. It just was not in very good condition. Grass was spotty and full of little white flowers. Sand traps were more like hard packed dirt. It was average, but could easily be a 4 or 5 with some TLC.

Love the course layout and design. The greens were a little beat up and patchy but over all in fair shape.

Staff was very friendly

Grass is in rough shape and some tee boxes were in nothing more than mud or weeds or sand. A local said the course is up for sale so not much is being done to keep it up. The layout of the course is amazing and is extremely challenging. With some better upkeep I would give this course a 5 star rating.

I played today - mid-morning tee time.

The staff were great, the fairways were in good condition and the greens were in a great condition.

The course has improved so much since Troon took it over.

A very enjoyable 4 hours!

Greens were lackluster with heavy spike marks everywhere. Heavy amount of fresh divots in the fairway gave further evidence of course being overplayed. White daisy like weeds flowering in fairways. Place is quite classy otherwise so was disappointing.

Good experience overall. Really liked the place and will give it another go one day.

This was my first time playing this course. It was a beautiful day, temperature in the mid-60's with little to no breeze, an ideal day for gold! My friend and I (beginners) were paired with two other golfers ( experts, one with over 50 years of experience!) and we all got along great! They were helpful and patience with our pace and ability! The course was enjoyable (although a little muddy from the recent rains) but Il definitely plan to return! I would definitely recommend for all levels!
