The course was in great shape and played well in spite of the rain the day before
Great day on the course
Great views, nice challenge
a fair test at a good value, course was in decent shape and we had a great day
Fun Course SLOW Play
Course and greens were in great shape. Weather was nice so there were a lot of people on the course. Play was very slow. Over 5 hour round despite the course having marshalls. They were not effective with keeping pace of play. I phoned the clubhouse to inform them of the slow play. We had 3 groups waiting on the tee box on certain holes. I will not be back for a long time due to the slow play.
Two Fivesomes?
Thank god it rained early in the morning so the course was not too busy. I was in a group of three and there were two groups of five in front of us that we caught up to around the 7th or 8th hole. How do you allow two fivesomes go out in two groups in a row?????
West Course
Fairways are in great shape, greens are still a little bumpy from the plugging but are very playable. Great course great value
fun course!
plenty of elevation changes. it dares you to take on some hole. greens were a little bumpy. clubhouse could you a little upgrading, but a great course overall
The Rock
Great place to get a round in. Course layout works well for a round with the Wife.
Golf
Golf was great people there were very helpful my first time playing there and they helped me out with good advice and directions thank you would defently go again can’t wait to take my friends that haven’t played there before
No Control
5 somes playing from blues can’t reach the par 3 drinking. Screaming drunk players. Slow play. Could be a good course bad management I guess
Hackers paradise!
Everything was good ,and fast carts are in good shape thanks Carl .
Great place to play golf!
Great views! Great layout.. nice greens .. friendly staff..Good pace of play!
Blue rock west
Great course for the price! They must have had a change in management however: the snack bar seem very limited, and I did not appreciate the fivesome in front of me that did not let me play through, it seems there was no Marshal on duty...just ask before you book to make sure there's not a five some in front of you
Five's a crowd
Good course for team gatherings, I guess, since they allow fivesome's. I was initially paired with a couple that didn't show up on first tee on time. So, I tee'd of as a single, only to catch the two groups in front of me - being five persons in each group! I've never heard of anything like it. I can't enforce my way through, as a single, I appreciate that. Yet, the groups in front of me realized, of course, they where holding me up, so they let me play through. Thanks (at first)! Having five guys waiting for me on tee, and then the next group of five waiting for me on the next green, and then a couple of holes further: the next...and the next...I realized I was rushing through the front nine, with detrimental effect on my own game. Sure, I'm happy to be allowed to play through when there is a slower group ahead. Allowing fivesome's on the course - you're bound to get slow play. Why not sixsome's?
Great Price, perfect day
had a great time yesterday at Blue Rock West , the greens were in the best shape ever! and I have played there plenty of times.
Nice/interesting course
This course is very fun to play, relatively well maintained, staff are friendly particularly that guy in the pro shop. I'll return and play here more.
Horrible Experience
I had a 1:52p tee time on the West course which the site indicated was wide open at that hour. When I arrived, I checked in and paid for my round . They said "they were just waiting for a few carts to come back in." I walked back in the shop about 15 minutes later, asking to be sure they would let me know when a cart was ready for me. I then saw about six carts sitting around with no one operating them. I waited for another 15 minutes – no call. At that point there were about 12 carts sitting near the clubhouse. I then walked back into the shop and asked for my money to be returned. I left the course and played elsewhere.
Think before you pull that driver!
I've played BRS four times now, twice each on the East and West courses. Today's round on the West course pointed out the subtle challenge that course provides for the more advance golfer. At 6,000 yds, the course provides a number of holes where longer hitters need to carefully consider club choice off the tees. Sharp doglegs, short par 4s, forced carries and strategically placed bunkers around the greens all wait to turn a great shot into a bogey or worse. Course conditions are decent, especially the greens which were in good shape. 4+ hour round
Best bang for the buck for 30 miles
Got the hot deal and $10 off reward for a total of $7.49 for 18 holes with a cart. Showed up an hour early and hit a small bucket and a couple of putts. The driving range mats were fine. The amount and location of flags were great. The practice green rolled true. Got to the first tee five minutes early and the other three golfers were not there so I went out solo. 12 to 16 mph winds and low 70 degrees was perfect conditions. The tee boxes and fairways were fine. The first cut was just mowed so no lost balls. The sand traps were 4/10 which is typical for a public course. The greens were great and rarely were there more than 2 pitch marks before I got there. They will stay open for at least one more year depending on the land developers moving in. Please support this course so troon or some other golf company not a housing company takes control. This course is better than Mare Island, Hiddenbrook, Napa Kennedy, Eagle Vines, Chardonnay, Stonetree, Rancho Solano, and Paradise for a fair balance of price and quality.
Great Course
Always a good time at Blue Rock. Either course is fun.
