Blue rock
Greens need to be cut and rolled to bumpy and slow but overall course is in condition
Fun course but man was it slow!
Teed of at 9:30 on a Saturday. Front nine took 2 and a half hours. The back nine took over 3! Yikes! We could see 2 different fivesomes ahead of us and never saw a marshal until halfway up the 18th fairway. At just under 6 hours, this was the longest round I've ever played.
Hi "u230355201" We apologize about the pace of play today. We will definitely discuss a solution and try and find out what happened on this specific day. We appreciate your patience and hope that you will give us another try in the near future.
get your friends in and have some fun
I played today and I have to say after playing 9 holes early in the day and playing in the afternoon took a lot out of me
Hi "Juan8635706" Thank you so much for leaving us 5 stars today! We are pleased that you enjoyed your round with us today.
Gem in Vallejo
Course was in great condition. Greens quick. Staff friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience.
Hi "mashiegirl" Thank you so much for the excellent review! We are so glad you enjoyed your round with us, please come back and visit us again soon.
Best Bargain
For the Golfnow rates after 3:00, best bargain around for a well maintained fun course.
Hi "u1630698337" Thank you so much for the great review!
Good Course To Play
I've played both East and West side of Blue Rock regularly and both are challenging in their own rights. The East course is wider than West course and 6,133 yardage from the blues and 5,776 yardage from the whites. West course is a little narrower and flatter at 6,014 from the blues and 5,661 from the whites. As you can see, 19 yards average between tee boxes is not much yardage deference between blue and white tees. Although there are some ponds on both sides, only one that comes into play is the number 4 hole at the West course. Hole 15 is a 400+ par four all uphill on the East course, which can be difficult at times to get on in two if you do not drive the ball well. The only thing I don't like at Blue Rock are the bunkers which do not have much sand, if any at all. It's easy to have your sand wedge bounce on the dirt, hit the ball thin and rocket past the greens when trying to get out of the bunkers. I do my best not to get in them. Other than that, it is a very good course to play in, staff are very friendly, the price is a bargain and be ready to use all the clubs in your bag.
Fix your ballmarks
The course is friendly, fun, challenging and worth the drive. it makes me want to move to Vallejo. Great Views! I drive an 1 1/2 hours to play on a green, cool course. It's not easy to walk as GolfNow states. FIX YOUR BALL MARKS. When I have a 10 foot put and I need to fix 7 ball marks in my line, it's a problem on all courses, but frustrating. If you can put a ball mark within a foot of the hole, fix it, PLEASE! It's not the courses responsibility to fix your outstanding shots.
Excellent golf outing
I loved the layout of this golf course. Very wide fairways and very well maintained except the bunkers. Bunkers have no soft sand .
Course is in good shape
Been playing the East course for over 15 years. Course is in great shape.
no sand
For the price we paid they should have sand in the bunkers. All the bunkers had no sand at all. It was like hitting off a hard dirt road.
Sorry to hear about your experience. We are working on improving our bunkers on the East course. Come give us another try! Give the West a try - nice views and some say more challenging than the East course.
Ralph
8 minutes too close
Very slow play didn't realize till arrived at course that groups were 8 minutes apart ... too close
greens revived n smooth n fasr
Have not seen east greens this nice for about ten years. Great job blurok east
Blue Rock Springs.
Blue Rock Springs is a beautiful, maintained public course. IT IS WORTH THE 45MINUTE DRIVE FROM OUR HOUSE. Both courses are in great shape. The west course is more challenging because it is narrow and not as wide as the East one. We always enjoy playing on either course.
Excellent Condition
Best condition for Blue Rock I've ever seen. True greens and very nice fairways
no a bad deal
It is an older "short" course designed before the advent of the ProV1. It really a second shot course. The greens were in fairly good shape, the tee boxes were ok. The pace of play is slow. They allow 5 and they let people tee off both 1 and 10.
The service is poor. The guy at the front desk wanted me to pay twice. I paid on line but he said he saw no record I paid on golfnow. It was unusual because he saw my reservation on the system. Good thing I printed out the online receipt.
A comfortable challenge
A comfortable challenge:
If you've ever played Hiddenbrooke which is located in the same area then you have a very good understanding of what this course offers in terms of challenges vistas and views.
difficult round
I learned that I must check for scheduled tournaments prior to booking a tee time. The pace was almost unbearably slow. I normally enjoy playing this course - it's in great condition except for the hard pan bunkers.
7-Hour Round - Nightmare
I went to play Blue Rock GC in Vallejo, CA this past weekend. As I went to check in I was met by a very busy clerk behind the counter. His tone and deportment was curt and direct. I wanted to check in a little early, get a cart, and head over to the range to hit a small bucket of balls. He did not have any carts available for me. Since the driving range is too far away to walk to I was left to put on a small putting green near the pro shop. The clerk said he would notify me over the intercom when a cart was available. However, he never notified me and as I got within 15 min of my tee time I made my way back to the pro shop. I asked him if he had a cart available for me since my tee time was in 15 min. He immediately spotted a cart that had just been returned by a patron and told me to take that cart. The cart was littered with cigarette butts, garbage and the seats were dirty from spilt beer. I ended up going to the restroom to wet a towel to wipe off the seat so I could sit down. More fun began as I began my round. We had players in front of us who were throwing down extra balls and doing things like going to the next tee box to tee off and then returning the the previous green to finish holing out. No marshalls were available to get this slow play group in front of us moving. The course phone number was left unanswered. As a result, our round was one of the most painful rounds I have played in a very long time. It took 7 hours to complete! On top of that, I counted two water jugs and one weak water fountain available on the course and No drink cart available. The sand traps had zero sand in them w/only hard pan clay dirt to hit off of. I honestly could not recommend this course to anyone.
Always Enjoy Blue Rock
The course is coming out of Winter in great shape. The one thing they need to work on is the bunkers. Terrible. Like hitting off of gunite.
