Good option for a range of skills
I've played this course of number of times and it holds up well regardless of the season.
Winter Time
Well it is December, fairways moist. Lots of poana grass on the bumpy greens. Pace of play was horrible. Overall course layout is great. A much better course to play in the summer.
Still Fun!
It has been a long minute since I have been out to play the Frog. I had read the reviews over the years and didn’t want to tarnish the memories of yesteryear. And while the reviews were true, I have to say I was surprised. Yes, it needs love on some of the greens and sand in the bunkers, but tee boxes, fairways and chipping areas were excellent. The layout is still very fair, with wide fairways and large putting surfaces. And with still only a couple holes with homes in view, it feels like Georgia golf the way it was meant to be. So, if you are fortunate to score a deep discounted Hot Deal, give The Frog another look. Better do it quick before the new brass dump some capital into it, restore it back to its original glory and the price for admission skyrockets!
good
course was in good condition evrn though it was raining the day before. people were good and easy to play.
Challenging but fun!
Considering I played this course during dormant conditions because of winter I was very impressed. Course was in good condition for that time of year. A lot of greens were protected with bunkers and strategically placed on a majority of holes. Greens rolled very well for winter conditions, fairly quick and slippery in some instances but consistent and smooth for the most part. Staff was very friendly as well, ate breakfast and food was pretty good. Course did have a range but nothing to brag about but it does the job and has flags to hit at. Overall really enjoyed the course and would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Also, would love to play this course during season when is greened up.
Greens are rough
Player here many times in the past, although this was the first time in a couple of years. Read the reviews before booking and it was hard to fathom this Fazzio west side gem had fallen off as bad as people stated., well it’s true. I spoke with a gentleman at the pro shop and I guessed I missed where the course went through bankruptcy and auction, sounds like that happened in September. Sounds like the new ownership is committed to putting the needed money into the course to return it to one of west sides better courses. Great layout and playable, but definitely rough. Look forward to playing it again maybe in the spring and see it in better condition.
Greens need help
I really like this course. The layout is great. Fairways are fine. The greens this time were in the worst shape I’ve ever seen them. Not sure what is happening with them but I hope they improve.
Got a great deal for the round so not too much to complain about. I’ll be back for sure.
Have lost the greens
One of my favorite layouts in Atlanta metro. They have lost the greens. Unplayable to make any putts. Still fun tee to green but play greens as a two putt max
Needs work
Worst greens ive played all year bunkers mostly unplayable too bad they let this course go could be bery nice
My Gosh! Heartbreaking what has happened
This course used to be my favorite in the area! I would drive 45 mins just to play here and have a great time every time!
Now this place is no better then chastain park or soemthing… it’s bad. Greens are not usable, bunkers are GONE, tee boxes are dirt.
Honestly it’s crazy how fast this course flipped. Less then a year ago it was a 9.3/10 for me… now it’s a solid 2…
What happened?
Use to I would recommend this course, but now? NO! Use to be one of the best courses around and it’s so sad seeing it in the current condition. Staff was very helpful. Greens were had an epic ton of crab grass in them making getting a true roll near impossible. Bunkers were also in pretty bad condition.
This use to be a nice course.
The weed growth on the greens is pretty bad, they use to be pure a few years ago.
