This course is very player friendly
We played this course a couple of days after a snowstorm . It is cart path only which made it a little harder for an old man. It was a fun and enjoyable day , lots of wildlife.
Been awhile
Haven't played here in a few years. The course was in good shape for the time of year. One green had a lot of ball marks but others were good. The waste bunkers/areas look like they have not been maintained but regular bunkers were ok. Little pricey for the product but a good value with hotdeal
NEW YEAR ROUND
It was great to get out on a cold sunny day 46 degrees. Course and greens were in great shape considering it is January. I can't wait to come back in the spring.
Play it at a discount if you can
Starting this review off by stating the obvious for those that have played in the past or play this course now. The Frog definitely isn’t what it used to be condition wise. The fairways were cut and the greens were solid. However, the areas off the fairway and bunkers need some serious attention. Bunkers are full of weeds. The fairway bunker on #10 (pictured) was half full of water. I understand rain happens but we hadnt seen rain for a couple of days prior. There were quite a few bunkers that could use more attention than what they appeared to be receiving. I don’t expect winter golf to be spring golf but man for 65-70 dollars a round I really wish they would get the conditions back to somewhat respectable. It is kind of embarrassing that they would be ok with how the conditions are at the moment.
No premade lunch items at the grill so make sure to call ahead after hole 8.
Pace of play was decent but we did get sort of backed up on around hole 13 or 14. Group of 5 ahead of us playing in hoodies, jeans, and work boots,
It really is sad what this place has become. C’mon Frog get it together..
Not worth the money or time.
Played this corse several years ago, it was amazingly nice. This time , the sand bunkers were awful and not kept up , nobody is raking the sand behind them , leaves all over the fairway’s , very hard to find your ball in the fairway , nobody is fixing ball divots on the greens, greens were awful. Very run down and not kept up. I was very disappointed. Also it was cart path only. Drain covers were off the drain’s in the fairway and on the cart paths. Only played the first nine holes. So slow with cart path only and people walking.
The Frog
Just needs some TLC on the large fairway traps and green traps. Other than that, it is in good shape, although a few greens had some rough spots.
Nice course overall
Good course with some short par 4s in my opinion. Very playable and green are around 8.3/10 overall.
Not worth the money!
Course has a good layout but it is in extremely poor condition.
Greens are covered in dead spots and divots. Bunkers are overgrown with weeds and dead grass. Fairways are ok.
There are much better courses close by for less money. West pines and mirror lake are both less and in great condition.
Awesome track
The course was beautiful with a fun layout.
The Pro there is an awesome guy too!
The bunkers could be alot better especially since they are so many they should look nice and raked but that's my only complaint
Needs work
Course needs bunkers repaired & fairways blown leaves litter the fairways & course making it impossible to find even in the fairway I was impressed with the layout & greens not bad for $40 hot deal but probably wouldn’t return without upgrades
Great layout
Back to Back par 5’a lots of terrain changes. Bunkers are in horrible shape in some places. However a great track I will be back.
Frog in November
Picked a great day to play and unfortunately it took us right around 5 hours to get around. There was not anyone around to do any Marshall work so not sure what the issue was.
Greens rolled very well and were true. Exceptionally receptive to shots from most any distance. In fact it was really different having to hit shots to an exact distance from 150 in as the pretty much stuck from that distance in. People fix your ball marks!
Fairways and rough are in good shape for the time of year. Only the bunkers could use some major work. Overall it was good course and if the pace was better I would give it a higher rating and recommend.
Fun layout, fair layout
Loved The Frog. Bunkers on the back 9 were pretty rough and not maintained but overall - what a fun course, I really enjoyed it. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in excellent shape. I played there on a Golf Now deal. Not sure I’d pay their normal price, which I believe is $80. Leaves need to be picked up, hard to find your ball with all the leaves on the ground. Pace of play slowed at the turn which was unfortunate, but it picked up after a few holes. I really was impressed with the course. Very fair layout. I think it’s far enough from ATL where it keeps the crowds away. I’ll be back.
Good Bang for the buck
With the GolfNow price I had today, I would play this course often. It really is a nice course, but with it in the disrepair it now has, to me it isn't work the asking price without the Hot Deals offers. There are bunkers that are pretty much has to be played as Unplayable Line. I know from experience as I hit into a couple of them. But the shape of the fairways and the greens make this a fun course to play. Not that I was in the center of the fairways on every shot, they were all playable, not having to worry about your lie being on thin turf. And the greens were fast and true, in really good shape.
