Just like I remember it
Hadn't played here since I was a teen and it is just like I remember it. Fun layout, great price
Get what you pay for
Not great condition but a good place for beginners to practice and very good value
Just exactly like I remembered
This course is an absolute gem! Yes, it don’t get the maintenance it probably deserves, but the City does a fair job with the budget they have. I sincerely hope they can work constructively with the neighbors to preserve the course and draw positive attention it more actively for generations to come.
As a product of the early throes of feminism in athletics, it deserves better than to be developed into some sort of residences.
Great course and bang for the buck
A really fun course to play with enough challenges to make it interesting. Once the greens are all fixed, and you don’t have to play on temporary (fairway) greens, it will be excellent!
Also, great restaurants nearby to rehash the round afterwards (Gox Bros BBQ, Houston’s, Vortex, etc).
Double Charge
I reserved a tee time on Golfnow as I have done many times without problem. But this time I arrived at the course and my online reservation is as not recognized. I had used a monthly coupon and secured a very good price. Instead I had to pay the regular rate. Golfnow refunded my online fee, but I was still out the extra money I had to pay at the course. What’s the point of using Golfnow?
Low cost golf and nothing to complain about
Candler is a great beginner course. Under $20 and for that, there should be no complaints. This is my go to neighborhood course and it is so much fun. No Augusta for sure but for $20 if you’re complaining you don’t play enough golf.
Love this place.
Nice Course for Practice
I really enjoyed the course but like most public courses, the maintenance was lacking. This is a good course to practice on and I would definitely play it again. There were some boxes that were sand traps and a few holes moved. I really enjoyed the course.
Not worth the time or money
The staff was kind and helpful. That’s the only redeeming quality.
This course is virtually unmaintained. I am surprised, actually, that they are allowed to charge people to play here. There were holes where the pin was literally set so far to the front of the green that is was actually in the fairway. Multiple tee boxes were literally sand traps (no grass). One green was completely roped off with the cup and pin in the fairway in front of the green. This is what happens anytime a govt entity is involved with something for public use. City of Atlanta doesn’t do much well, and they’re especially bad at maintaining this course. Someone should buy it and turn it into Bobby Jones 2.0. It’s cheap for a reason. Don’t recommend.
Fun and playable.
A very easy to like course. Pleasant and green in a quiet neighborhood, it was a great place for my adult daughter's first ever game. 9 holes was enough for her to find some confidence and for me to find my swing again.
Cool little 9 hole course
Found out when I got there that they didn’t have golf carts, had a good time walking the course for the first time ever. Fairways were nice with challenging shots. They were re-doing the greens and killed the old ones….so the greens weren’t great but I’m sure that will change. Overall I would recommend.
Summer heat
The fairways are fine, but the grass off the fairway was allowed to grow too long and is now piled up in huge clumps after mowing. A couple greens are mostly brown. But hey….it’s less than $15
Good value - good walk
$13 is about right for 9 holes in the city. Needs some TLC in a few key areas, but I will be back.
Front door is locked for some reason. Gotta go round back and up stairs.
No snacks.
Won’t take walk up either. Have to call a number.
