Pleasant Day
Walked 18 since it was cart path only due to recent rain the day before. It really could’ve been 90 degrees except for a few holes but walking was fine since it was cool. Greens were quick but not as quick as usual. Playing on a weekday after a rain storm was great as it wasn’t busy at all. Had the course to myself. Pins were tucked in their usual corners but all in all it was a fun day.

Very clean and well prepared condition.
Pretty hard green. Very challenging course for first timer.

Condition and Challenging of the greens
Gem of a course. Classic Donald Ross layout. Delightful greens., Hard, firm, fast, multiple contours, excellent condition, joy to play.

Questionable hole locations
Course was in great shape as usual. Course was kind of empty due to rain earlier in the day which didn’t bother me. Only issue continues to be some questionable hole locations. The USGA recommends hole locations no fewer than 5 paces from the collar. However some pin placements did not meet this guidance. Especially No. 16 where the pin was 3 paces from the edge or only 9 feet. I was pinhigh left by about 20 feet to an extreme back right hole location and couldn’t even put directly at the hole. The other option would be to chip which I’m sure the superintendent would not like. I don’t expect gimme pins but even the PGA doesn’t set pins like what I saw on 16.

Not disappointed
Third time to play and heard the course was in great shape, and despite the weather, it was a great round. Greens rolled well and fairways were nice. Some tee boxes needed a little love though.
Weekends are slow and I was paired with some high handicappers, but they were great to play with. Worth a try for sure.

Great Course
Great course...it's a Donald Ross, what else is there to say?? In perfect shape from tee to green. Greens run true & fast....flawless condition. Great sand in the bunkers & consistent throughout the course. Honestly cant find a negative thing to say about the playability of this course!! I only wish this course was closer, but will continue to drive the 90 minutes to get here a couple times a season. Simply, love this course....just wish they offered cocktails, instead of just beer, for after the round!!!

My Own Personal Augusta National
I love this course. It's the right amount of challenging for me. Aesthetically amazing. Never have a bad time here (even when the scorecard says otherwise).

Really Fast Greens
Greens were extremely fast. Because of the speed on the greens it made putting difficult. Pace of play was slow. Overall good course, just give the player an opportunity to make a putt.

Excellent old course
I always enjoy playing at Forest Hills. I consider it to be the best public course in Augusta, GA.

Unfair setup, slow play
Today the greens were so fast they were almost unputtable for the average player. Had to be stimping 13-14. On top of that the hole locations were all tucked in corners. The rough was so thick you ran the risk of losing your ball unless you were on top of it. And the ridiculous sawgrass off the 9th tee has to go. All it does is gobble up pulled tee shots and lead to slow play. No wonder why it took 2 1/2 hrs to play the front nine as a threesome.
