Butternut Creek Golf Course
About
Mountain views can be found on all 18 holes at Butternut Creek Golf Course, located in north Georgia. Elevation changes, mounds and undulating greens are all part of the challenge on the Bill Watts-designed golf course. No two holes are alike and water comes into play on 13 holes. With four to six tee boxes on every hole, the golf course can play as short or as long as you like. Butternut Creek is owned and operated by the Union County Recreation Department.

True Mountain Course
Excellent facilities, friendly staff and terrific carts! The course was in great shape for this time of year and recent weather. Expect a lot of hills, a lot of water all amid breathtaking views of mountains all around. A wonderful round of golf!
Elevations and plays long
A excellent course in the mountains. Have played this course many times and always was outstanding. Golf carts have coolers, ball and club cleaners
Hilly
From the time you are first tee all you see is hills. Up then down up then down..crazy fun..I'd go again because it's fun to play but wouldn't make it a habit. Great staff and price. A must play if your on a weekend trip with the boyz..
Great Day of Golf
I took my 25 year old son to Butternut Creek for the first time today. I use to play this course a lot while a student at Young Harris. This is a beautiful course and a very well maintained facility. We will be back.
The greens were aerated when I played but still a very good course
Good. Fairways are dead but still good. Course is well maintained. I just started golfing so im no good yet but I plan to get better.
Awesome carts!!!
The best part of this course was the carts with the massive gps unit. Very helpful and more convenient than my pocket unit. The club house and parking lot seem brand new and are very upscale. I play a lot of golf in Atlanta. I play a lot of Forsyth and Gwinnett co golf. This was excellent value for money.
Butternut Creek was great!
The course was in excellent shape for this time of the year! The greens were extremely fast and rolled true. The course has a few uphill holes that are fairly difficult, and it is an overall great experience to play here. The facilities were exceptional, and all the golf carts come with GPS systems, which is a huge plus. Butternut Creek is an excellent course for anyone wishing to play in the area.
Butternut
Great course but slow play would play again but not a course I would want to play regularly because don't hold true to tee times really well
Always enjoyable experience! Course in excellent condition and maintained superbly. Excellent grill and service to enjoy at the turn!
This course is extremely well maintained and carts have GPS. It is a beautiful setting and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.
could not of been better
Just a perfect day to spend time with my older brother. The course was just great and the cool sun shining December weather was wonderful. This course is a local favorite and is well maintained.
What a pleasure to log onto golf now.com and get a tee time with a good price and just walk in the club house give your name and be told everything is ready. Just GO Play!!!! Thank you
Beautiful mountain style course.
Greens smooth and fast. Fairways we'll maintained. Has great views and challenging holes.
Nice course
Nice mountain course that will challenge you----moderately well maintained
Like Hills, this course is for you
I like hilly courses,.Uphill,downhill,downhill,uphill. Very fast greens. Gas golf carts with GPS,nice touch, you can see placement of carts from group in front of you. This is good because of all the blind shots you are required to make. Some water in play and a selection of about 5 tees to use.All said and done my wife and I enjoyed the course.
This course is great. Greens are fast.
Super slow on Saturday. Large group of 16 teed off in front if my twosome. Would have taken over 5 hours but we gave up and left. Great course however.
Good value for the area.
We played from the white tees since it was our first time here and found some of the tee shots to be a challenge as hazards and bunkers came into play. This did make some of the greens reachable for eagle opportunities and required more precise placement on those that werent. Green were in very good shape and bunkers well sanded.
Outstanding Value
Most scenic golf course I've played anywhere and I've been an avid golfer more than 60 years! Views from each tee is a photo op! Very challenging, but you can pick your poison because there are five tee areas on each hole. Green fees include cart and are exceptionally low for the quality of the course.
Great course, excellent shape. Great value.
Fairways and greens in great shape. Layout with multiple Tee boxes offer plenty of challenge and still feels playable for average golfer. Carts have GPS and club cleaner. Most enjoyable round I've played recently
Super value!
Well maintained. Great mountain views. Satellite gps for shot distances. Distance does not allow for elevation changes. Makes it great fun adding or subtracting club selection. I'm about a 15 handicap.
Great course, and beautiful mountain veiws.
fairways are perfect, and the greens are excellent, will definetly be going back.
If you like mountain golf this is the course for you!
LOTS of ups and downs. Greens in great shape not to difficult to putt, which is good be cause it may take a few strokes to get up the hills.
