About
Mountain views can be found on all 18 holes at Butternut Creek Golf Course, located in north Georgia. Elevation changes, mounds and undulating greens are all part of the challenge on the Bill Watts-designed golf course. No two holes are alike and water comes into play on 13 holes. With four to six tee boxes on every hole, the golf course can play as short or as long as you like. Butternut Creek is owned and operated by the Union County Recreation Department.

Call Ahead on Rental Clubs
Showed up for a foursome and needed rental clubs. (2 sets) and were told they were out although I called ahead to tell them we would need rentals. It was raining and there was no one else on the course. Told they were all damaged. There is no spot for rental clubs in the Golfnow app. Disappointed but were able to go to another course and get on.
Course overall really good rough was a little high, but really had a good time. Scenery was very outstanding
Not a bad place
Traps are horrible. Not maintained, weeds, pretty bad. Greens were OK, some bad spots. Fairways in pretty good shape. No water on the course. at all.
God’s country
You are truly in “God’s County” when playing a round at Butternut Creek.
Great shape for all the rain we’ve had and a fun layout. Lived in the area 13 years first time playing butternut will definitely play again soon. Bar restaurant and staff outstanding
Fun mountain course
Fun course. Lots of up and down, blind shots. But choice of tees to fit your game. Very scorable.

Wife and I really enjoyed this beautiful mountain course. Lots of water and up and down fairways.

Beautiful layout. Lots of elevation changes. Well groomed roughs and easy to find the errant shots. I’d definitely play here again.
