Elevation changes, mounds and undulating greens are all part of the challenge on the Bill Watts-designed golf course. No two holes are alike and water comes into play on 13 holes. With four to six tee boxes on every hole, the golf course can play as short or as long as you like. Butternut Creek is owned and operated by the Union County Recreation Department.

I’m a huge fan on this course. It’s not an easy course but it’s gorgeous. I love the greens and I love that every hole feels like a uphill shot-because it is. Always a good golf value

Whenever we come to the mountains for a getaway I always play this course. Fun layout. Challenging but not overly so. Staff always nice. Greens are on the slower side and ironically the ball doesn’t hold as well for slow greens so be aware. But always an enjoyable round.
