Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club

The staff was friendly and attentive. Check-in was easy. Practice facilities were excellent. Enjoyed a great round of golf. The was a beverage cart on the course… very nice.

Course in great shape. Scenic. Fairways are plush. I'd love to buy a home on the course and play it every day.

We were asked to leave the course due to "Member Tournament". Abbreviated version. We pay, are told that if we can get started before 1:30, that all would be good. 3rd green complete. Shotgun start pairs show up along with cart staff. We are told to leave the course. Back to Pro Shop. We I get attitude from "head guy" because I question the reason for letting us start, when they know a tournament is about to begin. Head guy, suggest raincheck, but can't issue one because he's out of ink. Doesn't matter, I want my money refunded. Head guy makes smart remark about "do I think he should just shut down the course and not let anyone play" because members take precedence over guest. So, does that make me a peasant because I can't afford a membership at a course that isn't local to where I live.? Head guy wouldn't refund my money, he just turned and left without an apology, an left that to another of your staff. Nice young lady, did apologize.

I've been playing this course for years and on this day, I was treated poorly, (for lack of a better word) because I had a problem with my round being cut short, due to a member tournament. Apparently, a couples tournament was set up for sometime that afternoon. My tee time was 1:10. Admittedly, I was running just a little late, but our foursome was told that if you got off the 1st tee by 1:25, that all would be good. We teed off at 1:15 and all was going well. No one behind us pushing and no one in front of us to push. We weren't exactly taking our time, nor were we getting in huge rush either. Anyway, by the time we were walking off the 3rd green, Somewhere between 8 to 10 carts had caught up to us. Two were approaching us. 3 young guys from the cart pool. They told us that they had been asked by the Pro Shop manager to inform us that we needed to vacate the course, because of the upcoming tournament. So, we proceed to head to the clubhouse and as I pass each group in front of us, I let them know that the 3 course employees that were following us in, would be notifying them that they'd be asked to leave as well. They were not. They were allow to continue playing, as I would assume each group that we passed ahead were allowed. Obviously, I wasn't happy, but would go to the Pro Shop and see what if any was the problem.

Once entering the Pro Shop, I go to the front desk and was met by who I believe to be the manager. He ask what he can do for me. I ask him why we were being asked to leave the course. He does inform me that a tournament for members is scheduled. I then ask, why we weren't inform about this when we checked in, and were allow to begin our round. He tells me that "members take precedence" over guest. That part I get and totally understand. But he wasn't seeing the point. If I had known that there was to chance of this happening. I would've opt'd to find another place to play.(I booked this thru GolfNow, earlier in the week) When I pointed out that he should've been upfront to begin with, he asked me, "well, what would you have me do, shut the whole course down and not let anyone play" . That's when I said something about a refund, to which he offered a raincheck. I let him know at that point that I wasn't interested in a RAINCHECK, and that I wanted my money back. That is when he left without an apology, and left it to the nice young lady to refund my greens fees. This was a total waste of mine and my friends time, fuel to get here, and my patience. He could've handled this a lot differently or should I say a lot more professionally. At least to the level that I've experienced at your golf course through out the years. This is why I still rated the course the way I did, and not by the conduct of one of your employees. Oh, the young lady that was on duty that particular day, can corroborate this whole story.

Played here maybe 10 years ago, I had forgotten how hive it was!

This golf course has a challenging layout as we played from the back tee. What was really disappointing was that weeds were everywhere just outside the green area in almost every hole which made putting very upsetting.

Really enjoyed this course, great layout. Funny how you notice things about courses when you compare to others in area, This course is well maintained with nice cart paths, divots replaced or sanded, greens are repaired , etc, All ln al a well kept course. With a little heat and rain the whole course will just get better.

I've played this course quite a few times over the years and I enjoy it everytime. The course is always in good shape and the staff always very nice and professional. In fact I have a tee time booked for tomorrow.
