Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club
About
Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club is situated in the heart of South Hall County. The course sprawls across 150 acres of rolling countryside with natural wetlands comprising 19 of those acres. The golf course has a traditional Scottish links design that also incorporates a few mountain holes. It's a layout that will always keep you guessing. It may not be the most formidable golf course in the area, but it shouldn't be underestimated either. The course strikes a good balance between being forgiving enough for high handicappers and challenging enough for more advanced players. The par 3s are tough and the diverse par 4s come in all shapes and sizes. Royal Lakes Golf & C.C. is a shot maker's layout that requires accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The most memorable hole on the golf course is the par-5 11th, which features an intimidating island green.

Golfer Reviews
Great Golf Course
I would have given this course 5 stars except for the fact that pace of play on the front 9 holes was really slow due to 2 groups in front of me and they would not allow me to play through. No marshal to regulate the pace of play. The 2 groups in front of me only played 9 holes so the pace picked up on the back side but I still caught up to a foursome on number 15 that did not let me play through either. A marshal is needed for sure.
Always a pleasure
It’s always a pleasure to play Royal Lakes. Course is in great shape and greens are in great condition. They’re a little slow but the heat has them mowing a little high I would imagine. Staff was very friendly
David9086, thank you for your kind words! We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another 5-star experience. Thanks for choosing Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club.

Must Play
The course is beautiful and in great condition. The greens roll true and the speed of the greens are moderate. Beverage cart goes around and the club house has everything you need from supplies to drinks and food. The only drawback I saw was pace of play was slow. A Marshall needs to be on the course.

Fairways and greens need mowing
It seems they didn’t mow areas out of fear of “losing the greens” and had sprinklers going in middle of our round.
Layout is challenging but course has looked better. I don’t think I will be back any time soon. I hope they get it in good shape as the layout can be fun and challenging

Great course!
Really enjoyed playing this course. Challenging layout made for a great round. The fairways sloped toward the center definitely saved a few of my shots! Highly recommend!

Wednesday Hot and Humid
It’s a challenge if course with some really nice holes. Makes it interesting.Greens are slow which affects how the ball breaks. Overall enjoyed a good round.

Poor treatment by Pro shop staff.
We were asked to leave the course due to "Member Tournament". Abbreviated version. We pay, are told that if we can get started before 1:30, that all would be good. 3rd green complete. Shotgun start pairs show up along with cart staff. We are told to leave the course. Back to Pro Shop. We I get attitude from "head guy" because I question the reason for letting us start, when they know a tournament is about to begin. Head guy, suggest raincheck, but can't issue one because he's out of ink. Doesn't matter, I want my money refunded. Head guy makes smart remark about "do I think he should just shut down the course and not let anyone play" because members take precedence over guest. So, does that make me a peasant because I can't afford a membership at a course that isn't local to where I live.? Head guy wouldn't refund my money, he just turned and left without an apology, an left that to another of your staff. Nice young lady, did apologize.
