About
Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club is situated in the heart of South Hall County. The course sprawls across 150 acres of rolling countryside with natural wetlands comprising 19 of those acres. The golf course has a traditional Scottish links design that also incorporates a few mountain holes. It's a layout that will always keep you guessing. It may not be the most formidable golf course in the area, but it shouldn't be underestimated either. The course strikes a good balance between being forgiving enough for high handicappers and challenging enough for more advanced players. The par 3s are tough and the diverse par 4s come in all shapes and sizes. Royal Lakes Golf & C.C. is a shot maker's layout that requires accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The most memorable hole on the golf course is the par-5 11th, which features an intimidating island green.

Closed
Made reservation through golfnow and excited even though almost an hour trip there and when we finally arrived, it was closed on Mondays. Took my money and it was closed, guess they didn't bother to update it on golfnow... my family should get a free round for the long trip. I'm off on Mondays and we ended not playing any golf that day, bummer... if only they took the time to update that they were closed on Mondays... #@@!@#$$$#@@%%^

Terrible experience
Only my second time at this course and will not return. No range balls available, course had let the “regulars” go out with 3-4 carts per group so there were no carts available when I arrived at noon. No starter or anyone managing the groups going out. It was first come, first serve for carts so it was chaos at best. Only person working was in the clubhouse and blamed everything on the frost delay. Not sure how you run out of range balls and carts in 90 mins.

Always a great day out
For the day after heavy rain, the course was very good.
Staff excellent as usual
It was bitterly cold but the pace of play made up for it as we moved at our own brisk pace.

Double book tee times
Nice course. Friendly staff. Good shape.
Only negative thing was that they double booked tee times. Members started on 15 or 16 like a shot gun start and were allowed to play thru tee times on hole #1 which backed up tee times 15-20mins. Pace of play improved as the round progressed, but ended up being over a 4 hour round on a Thursday morning.

Challenging, but beautiful course!
I have played Royal Lakes a few times, and I think it is one of the best courses in north metro Atlanta area. The course conditions were in fantastic condition; the greens are some of the best I’ve played this year! This is a challenging course with lots of variety; some easy, open holes and some tough ones! I view this as a good mental game course (you have to pick your shots wisely and know your yardages well). Don’t be afraid to lay-up and you will usually be rewarded for it. Stay out of the rough during the fall (lost a few balls that I couldn’t find). I will definitely return often and play here. Keep up the great work!

Never played because of tee time was entered wrong date and could never get a hold of no one to cancel on Golf now and nor the golf course
