About
Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a public, 27-hole layout in Gainesville. The course is tucked amongst the Appalachian foothills, giving it a scenic terrain of rolling hills. The holes are divided into three nines: the Village, the Mill, and the School, that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Five sets of tees provide even more variety. The Village nine is the longest of the three and it's also the driest. There is only a small lake beside the second hole. That doesn't mean the golf course isn't challenging though, you'll still face several strategically placed bunkers. There are a few scattered trees but the course is mostly open and offers some room for error. In addition to the 27 holes, Chicopee Woods G.C. also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens.

Bring your A game to Cherokee Run
Cherokee Run is one of the most challenging golf courses in the metro Atlanta area, and yet always guarantees a memorable round. The course layout is tough but fun. The super fast greens will test every touch of your short game. Especially, if you have a foursome that enjoys the scramble format, this course is a must try. Me and my three buddies always have a blast and yesterday was no exception.

Difficult course
The course has a lot of uphill, sidehill fairways. Some holes if you do not hit to perfect position balls will roll away. Great golfers may enjoy it. Really tough for the mid to high handicapper.

Great but..
Course, staff, price all very good. The but was that they had marshals running the course almost all day but did nothing to make one group move it on and held up the round for everyone following.

Enjoyable course
I have not played here in several years. The course was in great shape for this time of year. The crew was actively blowing leaves off the course, which helped a lot. My son and I enjoyed our round and will likely return.

As always, Chicopee Woods shows it is the best value around. The fairways and tee boxes could use some water, but the greens were very good.
