About
Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a public, 27-hole layout in Gainesville. The course is tucked amongst the Appalachian foothills, giving it a scenic terrain of rolling hills. The holes are divided into three nines: the Village, the Mill, and the School, that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Five sets of tees provide even more variety. The Village nine is the longest of the three and it's also the driest. There is only a small lake beside the second hole. That doesn't mean the golf course isn't challenging though, you'll still face several strategically placed bunkers. There are a few scattered trees but the course is mostly open and offers some room for error. In addition to the 27 holes, Chicopee Woods G.C. also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens.

Paid to wait 6 hours for walking high schoolers
Horrible planing, stuff doesnt care at best. Not fair to pay and wait on a course full or people walking. If you have 6 hours for a round then be my guest!

I play here weekly and I enjoy the three sets of nine holes so you occasionally get a bit different experience .
The greens are in great shape and looking forward to the fairways and tee boxes improving as the weather warms.

Great Staff! Great Facilities
Chicopee has a great staff to help you find everything and get you playing! The practice facilities are some of the best in the area and the courses are always in good condition.

Very nice public course
This is one of the better public courses you will find in North Georgia. The often full parking lot is evidence of this! The staff is efficient and friendly. In the past two years, they have spent a lot of money on grounds maintenance, new rest rooms on the course (that are kept clean), thining out the woods, and new plantings.
And they have added GPS devices to the carts, which in addition to helping with distances, they have a “pace of play” indicator.
The whole course is up and down and sideways throughout. Very challenging in that most times there is some form of other than flat stance to deal with. A driver on a Par 5 isn’t an automatic. The fairways vary. Some are very tight others wide open. There are holes you’ll have a serious live/hate relationship with.
Despite the heavy play, even through the winter, the greens are in pretty good condition. Note to some of my fellow golfers: you can thank me for repairing your ball marks.
There are several tee boxes for each level of play. Tee boxes are a weakness. The large volume of play in the past few years are taking their toll. They need work. So do the sand traps which can be inconsistent. There are ample number of rakes for the players to use after playing from the trap.
My favorite hole is #1 Mill, a wide open, downhill par 5. It can be eagle’d or tripled. The least liked hole there is #6 School; that tiered green is inappropriate for hole like this. The approach is very difficult and with the cart path restrictions the hole plays very slow already.
But overall, this is a fun course that plays in 4.5 hours.

Great Course
This is a pretty solid course and the pace of play was on point. The only issue I had was the gnats. Outside of that, great course.

Quick outing
We were just looking to play local, saw a time on Chicopee. We weren’t sure what to expect this time of year, boy were we pleasantly surprised. The greens were amazing. The fairways were starting to come in also. Fantastic conditions for this time of year.

Overall fantastic course
I've had their annual package for two years and wish I could have continued if I wasn't relocating. Aside from the amazing value, the staff and maintenance of the course is what made it special. I always felt welcomed and accommodated, special thank you to Keith and Ryan! Highly recommend you check it out, there are three 9's and each are unique, challenging but fair, and fun to play.
