About
Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a public, 27-hole layout in Gainesville. The course is tucked amongst the Appalachian foothills, giving it a scenic terrain of rolling hills. The holes are divided into three nines: the Village, the Mill, and the School, that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Five sets of tees provide even more variety. The Village nine is the longest of the three and it's also the driest. There is only a small lake beside the second hole. That doesn't mean the golf course isn't challenging though, you'll still face several strategically placed bunkers. There are a few scattered trees but the course is mostly open and offers some room for error. In addition to the 27 holes, Chicopee Woods G.C. also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens.

Disappointed
The greens were way to high and very bumpy. The fairways had grass catching piled high left on the course.

Good course
Greens has not recovered from begin punched, so greens while healthy, not what I would call putt-able. More like hit and pray. Fairways and tee boxes in great shape. Would still play the course as is - great facility; a nice course.

Love this course, always friendly staff and great 3 9’s. Greens where long with sand but it is what it is.. in 2 weeks the greens will be perfect.
One continued suggestion is to remodel the club house.

Great Value.
First time here. Great in all aspects, the only minor exception being the recently aerated greens but of course that has to be done periodically. Paid about $45pp for a Saturday morning in July which, if that's their normal rate and not discounted due to green aerification, would make Chicopee the best value in greater ATL. Will definitely be back.

I got stung by a wasp
At 4th hole, I got stung by a longevity wasp on my left calf when I was near the rough area. I was almost shocked, luckily I don't have any allergy. I just have serious pain and dizzy for two days, still itching like crazy.
Nobody wants insect bites while playing golf, I just don't understand why it happened to me. My friend was asking me to call 911, but I endured for.
I'm just afraid to go again. The area might needed better pest controls.
