Chicopee Woods Golf Course - Village Nine
About
Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a public, 27-hole layout in Gainesville. The course is tucked amongst the Appalachian foothills, giving it a scenic terrain of rolling hills. The holes are divided into three nines: the Village, the Mill, and the School, that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Five sets of tees provide even more variety. The Village nine is the longest of the three and it's also the driest. There is only a small lake beside the second hole. That doesn't mean the golf course isn't challenging though, you'll still face several strategically placed bunkers. There are a few scattered trees but the course is mostly open and offers some room for error. In addition to the 27 holes, Chicopee Woods G.C. also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens.

Does anybody at Chicopee know what too dressing greens ia for?
Why bother with a mini aeration if you don't top dress the greens, and roll them.
Chicopee could take some sugar sand out of their new bunkers and too dress the greens. Nobody would miss the sand in the bunkers since there's so much already.
Chicopee doesn't care, they still get tons of olay.
Great Course
I’ve played here many times over 10-15 years and twice this week. The course is in great shape and the improvements, although mostly do little for the golf round, certainly make the course a nicer outdoor experience. Over the past year or two, they’ve replaced cart paths, added a ton of landscape and recently hardscape and cleaned out much of the wooded area underbrush. It all looks really nice. I give them an A+ for course condition . The pace of play for this week’s rounds were great compared to problematic pace over the past several years. I hope it’s an intentional improvement and not a one off situation. This week’s pace was greatly appreciated.
In my opinion and experience the staff has always felt distant, artificial and unengaged throughout my entire time playing here. Almost like you’re not a customer and they don’t want to be there. The staff on Friday demonstrated a new level of disrespect. Enough said and nothing that will stop me from playing / recommending the course. Play the course. It really is worth playing.
Great place to play
Enjoyed the round. Was paired with good guys. Nice warm up area. Staff was great. Al the starter was super.
Upgraded
I have played this course many times. They have spent a lot of time and money to beautify this course around the tees and greens. Makes the course look so much better.
Favorite course around
Always enjoy rounds at Chicopee! Incredible layout, greens and amenities. Pace of play could be better but overall the best course in the area. Pure all around!
Best kept secret
What an amazing day ! Weather perfect ! Staff was perfect , course was amazing
I like Chicopee and have played it several times. Couldn’t put tee in the ground a few times and tee boxes were more like playing out of sand. Paired us up with another twosome but there was zero need to do so as the course wasn’t crowded at our tee times at all.
Clubhouse is ALWAYS closed, including bathrooms, if you finish up late. Also, the prices have gone way up over the last couple of years. This used to be a great place to play for a great ROI. Not so much anymore.
Chicopee is a must play
Really nice course and well maintained. White sand bunkers well groomed and staff was extremely friendly. Scenic views and when in season is a great value. Would play again!
5 1/2 hours!!!!
This is a good course overall, however, it is very busy, they don’t space out golfers enough, and they make no attempt at having a marshal enforced Pace of play. The result was a 5 1/2 hour round and we counted 14 people on the back line who drew off, not even finishing their round.
