Laurel Island Links
About
The 18-hole Laurel Island Links in Kingsland, Georgia is a public golf course that opened in 1996. Designed by Davis Love III, Laurel Island Links measures 7011 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 138 and a 74.8 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels.
This design by PGA Tour player Davis Love III is quite remarkable. Laurel island resides on the banks of the vast Crooked River marsh that provides a stunning backdrop for holes two, three, and six.
The second nine roams inland working toward a secluded section of pine forest. The course is softly shaped and tinged in gentle southern atmosphere, opened in 1997. There is a light touch and quiet interaction with nature. You can play a beautiful, meditative golf at Laurel Island Links Laurel Island is approximately 25 minutes north of Jacksonville, FL. From Jacksonville take I-95 north to Georgia exit 6 and head east for two miles. Laurel Island Parkway will be on the left.

Nice find
Course was good, interesting holes, good conditions..... Pace of play was nice and the value was great.....friendly staff
Never Disappoints
As usual the course is in excellent condition. Staff is amazing! There are always improvements happening. If you live in the area then make this a regular. If you don't live in the area then take a ride and enjoy.
Fun and Fair
I played this course twice in the last week. Condition is excellent. Fairways, greens, fantastic shape! Greens can be fast when they are shaved. Don't mess with the water or marsh. If you have a shot that you see slopes toward the hazard, steer clear! Do not underestimate the slopes! You'll see what I mean. I assure you this course will be a blast to play. Get out there!
Greens were in excellent condition for this time or any time of year!
8AM tee time on Saturday resulted in our being only ones on course for 2 hours. Course in best condition of my memory in last 5 years. Congrats to maintenance staff! Highly recommending to my friends at private Club when our course closed for maintenance or outside event.
Nice course for a very fair cost
The greens, tee boxes and the fairways were in great condition. Enjoyed the round. The only issue was they did not have a liquor license so no beer on the course or in the clubhouse.
It is a fun course
Interesting golf course, nice variety. January is a little cold, however playing at 12:30 (fire sale) was a deal
Classic Coastal Golf
Always enjoy playing this Davis Love course. It's a classic coastal golf experience complete with unique wild life and beautiful views. 2, 3, 4, and 6 give you great marsh views. Where the front 9 has that coastal feel the back 9 is the familiar Georgia lay out that winds through pines, oaks, and the occasional palm. Rolling and winding fairways, long approach shots, changes in elevation all make the back good challenge. 6 is the toughest hole on the course in my opinion. Double dog leg that leaves you with an interesting decision on your second and/or third shots. You will see what I mean. Staff is friendly. Club house is reasonably priced. Worth the $30 or so you'll pay to play even better if you can get a deal. I try and play this course once a month to once every six weeks.
wide open course
nice course in good condition, short on the front 9 a little long on the back 9. good shot making available. soft greens no flat puts.
enjoyed and went back to play 9 more for $15.00 nice play nice price
well worth a trip to play!
Course is in good shape. It's going dormant now but is very playable.Greens are in good shape and roll true. The layout is challenging to most levels of golfers but not discouraging to a lesser golfer.(i.E. 15-20 handicap)I recommend you try it!
Great Course
The course was in excellent condition. It was well worth the 45 minute drive up from Jacksonville. I will be back with friends.
average experience
the course started out nicely and occasionally there was an interesting hole but the course really needs a few more special holes
Great track in excellent condition
We played on Friday at 11:00. No waiting at any of the holes. The vistas were a treat especially on the front 9. Staff went out of their way to welcome us and explain the layout. Tee boxes were flat and well conditioned. Fairways well conditioned, a brown color unlike what we are used to but good lies everywhere. Greens were close to perfect and 10.5 on the stimp meter. The restaurant looked great as well. Unfortunately we didn't have time to stay for a meal. Prices were good.
Slow, slow, slow
Played on the day before Thanksgiving, and the course definitely had more golfers than usual. An extremely slow foursome held up at least 5 groups behind them, the round took nearly 5 hours. No marshalls, no course personnel to keep things moving.
Greens were in very good shape, as were most of the fairways. The pace overshadowed how nice the course was.
We love the layout, wildlife and scenery. I proposed to my wife 10 years ago on number 17!
The course is in great shape with very light top dressing on the greens. The course is well maintained and you will love the backdrop of the marsh surroundings. Playing from different sets of tees changes the challenge. Book yourself a round on GolfNow today and Enjoy!
Very nice course.
I love the undulating greens, the wind was blowing 18-25 out of the NNE and damp out. But I love playing conditions like that. Grass is starting to go dormant but you can tell the course is kept in great shape, very little stray grasses in the wrong place and the bunker edges were trimmed/edged. Great staff from the front of the house to the golf maintance Team to keep the course is such great condition. I worked for the golf maintance staff at Snowshoe and for the Homestead Resort in the past so I have a understanding of how a course should be kept in shape. Great job Ladies and Gentleman.
Excellent
This is a beautiful design that blends well with the natural setting. Greens are nice, the course is playable but challenging, with a good mix of length and risk-reward. The only "problem" is that the "signature" holes come on the 2nd and 3rd holes instead of late in the round when they would be more memorable. Aside from that, Laurel Island is a fun, challenging track of great value if you are nearby.
this course is a great value.
conditions were perfect, not crowded. Best kept secret.
Good course, just a tough day of golf
We played on a day when hurricane Sandy was off the east coast, so it was EXTREMELY windy and made for very tough holes. The course was in good shape and a steal for the price we paid.
Beautiful Layout
This is a very playable yet can be challenging at the same time. Fairways are ample but some shots to greens require accuracy and elevation control on distance. Greens rolled very nicely.
